Andre Johnson Drops Almost $20k at Toys R Us (1 Viewer)

Its awesome to see a star like that give back.... man do i love this stuff. There seems to be a new change of WR attitudes of late imo. AJ/Fitz/Calvin all look like model citizens and Green and Julio are following suite, just a very nice change for the NFL. I really hope incoming WR's take notice to how that entire group operates... heres looking at you Titus Young!

Great gesture and love it for the kids..would be classier not to pose with receipts.

had an opportunity a few years ago to have lunch with him. one of the nicest, most humble guys you will ever meet. he really gets it. great to see him get some press, he has been way too overshadowed by TO and randy the last 6-7 years.

side note, he noted back then that he didn't like finnegan, because he played kind of dirty trying to take out guy's knees, etc.

Probably will never see it but having a video of these kids and watching them run through the store would be epic.

Not something mentioned, but certainly worth attention. I think this "generation" got to see the trainwreck/pitifullness of the previous regime (Moss, Owens, 85) first hand, and how awful the fall from grace was...they all know they will get old, they are choosing to do it with some dignity. Hopefully, they also realize that by being a "teamplayer", they will likely get that one last contract where guys like Owens and Ocho pissed that away (even Moss had to eat some humble pie to get his).

Figured you would find something here to be a choad about. When you spend 19k on needy kids, you can pretty much do whatever the F you want.

meh....thats like me spending $20.
have you spent 20 bux on toys for needy kids this year.

Andre Johnson 2012 salary: $700,000Spent $20,000

Equivalent salary of a person spending $20 on toys for needy kids = $700

I agree with your premise, but the salary number is misleading due to signing bonuses and restructuring bonuses. Andre is really about a $10 million per yearplayer. so:

Andre Johnson 2012 estimated salary $10,000,000

Spent $20,000

Equivalent salary of a person spending $20 on toys for needy kids = $10,000

So if we assume ITS makes $50,000, then he should spent $100 on needy kids. Hopefully, he is doing his share.

I'm sure his foundation picked up the bill so AJ wasn't on the hook for all of it. :P

I gotta give a shout out for Frostee Rucker (DE - Cle) who made a donation to my church's Christmas is for Kids program. Another one of the good guys in the NFL!

Edit for spelling.
