Andy D's 2nd annual Super-Mega, 3 Round, Post-Combine, (1 Viewer)

54. Tennessee - DeSean Jackson, WR - California

Drops in the draft due to size issues, but is just the electric playmaker the offense needs. Fills the returner void left by Pac Man.

55. Seattle - Martellus Bennett, TE - Texas A&M

A decent TE helps make their offense go.
I'll almost, but not quite.. ....bet one year's wages that there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY, that DeSean Jackson makes it past the Raiders' 2nd Rd pick.

61. Dallas - Justin King, CB - Penn. St.Fans want two CBs in the first two rounds for good reason.
That would be a very good pick, particularly coupled with Cason. King has elite physical skills, but is learning to play the position. Give him a year or two with Newman mentoring him, and watch out!

I think none of you are going to like where I have Ray Rice ending up.
I would love to hear you say Clevenad in the 4th but that just ain't gonna happen. Pittsburgh?
You're in the right region of the country.
The next drafted RB to try and take over for Rudi J??
Cant be, he said we would not like it, and as the owner of the 1.4, i would love that.
really? i would think most people would hate it. The return of a healthy Rudi and Kenny Irons? Chris Perry is always a wild card (love him or hate him, injuries or not, he is still there), the great job by watson last year? I cant see anyone liking their 1.4 rookie pick being another rb in cinci.would they really try again to get a rb in the draft? i know det wont draft a wr 1st 3 years in a row, but another rb for cinci?

As a comparison:

Clady - 40 time (5.15-5.23) Vertical (31) Arm Length (36 3/4)

Long - 40 time (5.15-5.19) Vertical (28) Arm Length (32 7/8)

Is he top 10 definately. Is he a reach at 5 most likely. Would they pull the trigger on him guess we find out in a month or so. The Chiefs have so many needs right now but all the mocks are looking at is consensus picks based on our depleted O-Line. I believe at pick 5, if they keep the pick they go for immediate impact on the field.

The link shows R Clady workout on Pro Day which is impressive.

I think Clady may have been considered a bit of a reach a couple of months ago, maybe......but NO LONGER is this the case. This guy may in fact be better than Long as he has better footwork, and as you've indicated above, he has another VERY BIG advantage that NFL teams value for OL, especially tackles.......arm length.....This guy is a Top 10 prospect, so taking him at #5 is not a reach, especially if it fills a huge need.......ala Levi Brown last year, and this guy is an even better prospect than Brown, actually

Okay. It was less than 15 minutes. This timeout was brought to you by Blimpies subs owned by the nice Asian-Indian ladies down the street.

Everyone ready for round 3?

BTW - I do have these organized by team, so if you wait until round 3 is done, I can post each pick by team for everyone to enjoy.

I cant see the eagles taking a WR in the 1st ( look at their track record, 2 in the past 12 yrs i think )
2 in the past 23 years actually. In the entire history of Eagles drafts, only 3 WRs have been picked in the 1st round.2001 - Freddie Mitchell1984 - Kenny Jackson1982 - Mike Quick

3rd Round

64. Miami - Cliff Avril, OLB - Purdue

65. St. Louis - Darrell Robertson, DE - Georgia Tech

66. Kansas City - Mario Manningham, WR - Michigan

Since they went to the superbowl with a legit #1 on the roster, I suggest it's a philosophy they should consider changing.

I'm not disagreeing with you. But I really don't think its a philosophy, just a really strange coincidence.I would be thrilled with Sweed.

66. Kansas City - Mario Manningham, WR - MichiganWOW, another big drop for a wr being talked about as a 1st rounder. Why the drop to 3?
The other receivers have shown more than he has. He may (or may not) be a head case. Running a 4.60 didn't help him.The draft is just loaded with good, if not elite, WR talent.

36. New York Jets - Red Bryant, DT - Texas A&MNeed someone better than Dwayne Robertson to anchor their 3-4.
:kicksrock:  Great Stuff Andy! Sorry I missed it as it was announced, work always gets in the way. Seems to be a tougher crowd today, but entertaining nonetheless. Now I know why you said I'd be happy with rd.2. Now I just gotta twiddle thumbs until round 4.

Shoot. I didn't update this when the Jets traded for Kris Jenkins.

Gimme a second to update this third round.

Enjoy the music while you wait.

or rd 5 if you are a chargers fan...

I'm glad the Panthers made that trade as it gives me a chance to move Ray Rice where I wanted him in the first place. Plus, I'll make my Bengals friends happier...

67. Carolina Panthers (from NY Jets) - Ray Rice, RB - Rutgers

68. Atlanta - Xavier Adibi, LB - Virginia Tech

69. New England (from Oakland) - Heath Benedict, OT - Newberry

Would love to see Pats draft some youth at LB, but unfortunately BB's track record in this department speaks for itself. My guess is this second rounder will be a complete headscratcher. In fact, if Desean Jackson falls as much as you project, I wouldn't rule a trade up for him. BB values special teams immensely. That would be the exact sort of WTF moment the Pats bring to every draft. (For better or worse.)

Ray Rice just landed in the 1.4 spot. I like it. I dont think Williams is a full time back. will make a good tandem in Carolina.

Don't I know it. I just pick a name I like out of a hat for the Patriots pick.

I'm very surprised to see Talib here, a no brainer selection for KC.
I just saw a mock on espn.com and the write had KC taking him #5 overall!!!!!!!

70. San Francisco - Josh Barrett, S - Arizona St.

71. Buffalo (from Baltimore) - Martin Rucker, TE - Missouri

Sonofa... Thanks. Just a second...I worked on this for about five days. I started with the draft order as it was last Friday.

Jamaal to Chi is interesting to say the least. This deep down the boards, doesnt preclude him from being the feature but it also doesnt immediately scream lead back. Not sure what to think. I am not as high on charles as others but this could make for some interesting debates at 1.4 - 1.7 in rookie drafts.

I would be happy with the Bills draft if it happened this way.

11. Buffalo - Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB - Tennessee St.

41. Buffalo - James Hardy, WR - Indiana

72. Buffalo - Martin Rucker, TE - Missouri

I hits up the 3 main areas of concern and we have some nice value. I don't mind Hardy in the 2nd (I wish we would trade up to get Kelly with that fall). And I think Rucker can fit in nicely with our offense.

DRC has all the tools to be a stud in the NFL. Lets hope our coaches would be able to coach him up to where he needs to be.

79. Houston - Kevin Smith, RB - U.S.F.

80. Philadelphia - Oneil Cousins, OT - Texas - El Paso

81. Arizona - Matt Forte, RB - Tulane

Which is why a QB in the second for the Bears makes more sense. Easier for them to ick up a WR in the third than a good QB.

82. Minnesota - Jermichael Finley, TE - Texas

83. Tampa Bay - Lavelle Hawkins, WR - California

84. Washington - Roy Schuening, OG - Oregon State

:lmao: i was waiting for you to screw up my dynasty team with a great houston pick. I am holding out hope that Houston doesnt take a back in the 1st 3 and gives an aging green and darius walker a shot again this year. But Kevin Smith is too good for them to pass up here. He also has to garner 1.4 consideration in this. Ok screw up is not true since green/walker is my #4 tandem but it hurts my trade plans for them!!!Forte to Arizona could be a good pick. Edge has alittle left but neither shipp nor JJ has shown anything. Forte could learn from one of the best and take over next year.
