Andy D's 2nd annual Super-Mega, 3 Round, Post-Combine, (1 Viewer)

50. Arizona - Tracy Porter, CB - Indiana

Antrel Rolle has been moved to FS so there's a corner spot open.

51. Washington - Brandon Flowers, CB - Virginia Tech

No value left at the DE spot means they help the d-backs get younger.

Porter ran a 4.29 at his pro day. :bye:
:)

O-Line is incredibly deep in this draft. DE/DT is is much shorter supply of quality talent that is immediate which is what you want at the 5 spot. Although Clady is talented he is not top 5 talented in comparison to what else is avaliable due to supply and demand.
Both are true. But the need for OTs in the NFL is greater than the need for DTs. So instead of taking the leftovers at the tackle spot, take the guy that can help your team most at the spot where he's available. This isn't fantasy football. The term "value" means something different in real life.
If you judge a corner strictly by his 40 speed wearing shorts and a tshirt your opinion is biased. The guy is a gamer and in saying that his game speed among many other facets is what makes him a top 3 to 5 corner in the draft.
I don't judge him by his 40 time alone. I judge him by his performance on field as well and it can most generously be described as "uneven."

52. Tampa Bay - Pat Sims, DT - Auburn

Team talked to him at the combine and the interior d-line could use some depth.

53. Pittsburgh - Dre Moore, DT - Maryland

Perfect fit for the 3-4 and helps the Steelers d-line get tougher.

Dang, if Porter ran a legit 4.29, no way he makes it to 50. Doubt he makes it out of the 30s.
Probably should have put him to the Ravens with their 2nd, if not higher. Maybe Washington's first pick.He ran a 4.29 and a 4.32.

54. Tennessee - DeSean Jackson, WR - California

Drops in the draft due to size issues, but is just the electric playmaker the offense needs. Fills the returner void left by Pac Man.

55. Seattle - Martellus Bennett, TE - Texas A&M

A decent TE helps make their offense go.

Porter is an interesting guy. He's got to go to the right system. He's small, which makes him less desirable to cover-2 teams. But obviously very fast and seems to have really good man coverage skills. Despite his speed, he hasn't made a lot of interceptions and the like. He reminds me a lot of Terrence Newman. Just a little smaller. I could defintely see Dallas going after him at 28, depending on what they do at 22.

Tennessee really needs a homerun threat and Jackson sure fits the bill. I'm sure VY would be thrilled. Not to mention his skills as a PR/KR.

quite the fall for Jackson who is often listed as a 1st rd talent. Dont really think he helps VY as much as they hope he does.

Jackson at this point does make sense. One can hope he can gain some size/strength. Until proven otherwise, he's the latest iteration of Roscoe Parrish. He was a 2nd rounder a couple of years ago to Buffalo.

He does in that he makes the other WRs better as a whole.

Decent comparison, although I think Parrish is just small and Jackson is more dynamic.

56. Green Bay - Charles Godfrey, CB - Iowa

A physical DB that really fits their scheme well.

57. Miami (from San Diego) - Ahtyba Rubin, DT - Iowa St.

The heir apparent to old Jason Ferguson at NT. Maimi continues to build from the inside out.

As a comparison:

Clady - 40 time (5.15-5.23) Vertical (31) Arm Length (36 3/4)

Long - 40 time (5.15-5.19) Vertical (28) Arm Length (32 7/8)

Is he top 10 definately. Is he a reach at 5 most likely. Would they pull the trigger on him guess we find out in a month or so. The Chiefs have so many needs right now but all the mocks are looking at is consensus picks based on our depleted O-Line. I believe at pick 5, if they keep the pick they go for immediate impact on the field.

The link shows R Clady workout on Pro Day which is impressive.

Parrish was pretty explosive at Miami. I've been surprised it never translated at the pro level. Maybe being in Buffalo made him slower. :ptts:

This is where I see Thompson making his move for Green Bay. Yep, trading up for Porter.I like the spot, don't think it will be Arizona though.
 What's so great about Porter beyond speed? He's too small. How would they move up? Moving up isn't TT's style. How is Porter such a difference maker that he's worthy of giving up potential starters later in the draft?

Parrish is explosive. He's an excellent punt returner. But he just gets eaten up by the bump on many passing downs. He can't go over the middle. Its just really limiting being that size and trying to play WR.

:lmao: A resounding hell ya from this Packer fan. Fits the size GB looks for in their CB's and has good speed. Still raw but he could play nickel for them in 2008 and learn from Al and Charles.

58. Jacksonville - Andre Caldwell, WR - Florida

Porter + Williamson = less than you started with, so this is the burner they're looking for.

59. Indianapolis - Chris Johnson, RB - E.C.U.

The home run threat to compliment Addai.

The man is deathly afraid of the cold. He hates it here. There was a story that when he got off the plane when he first got here in Buffalo he sould not get out of his car because it was so cold.

46. Cincinnati - Dustin Keller, TE - PurdueLovie has said he wants more from the TE spot.
Lots of questions here. Why Keller when Davis is still on the board? By the way, the need for a TE goes way down if they sign Utecht this weekend. Also, everybody and their brother knows that defense is the need here, and with LB like Lofton, I would surely think we go that route instead. I could even see the need to take another DT here like Sims.I guess I am one who is very much against a TE before the 3rd round (or later depending on Utecht).

Man, that will be tough to decide where to take him in the rookie drafts. Do you take him before F.Jones who is also in a RBBC or do you wait to see where R.Rice ends up and maybe take him at 1.4. This is fun!

Andy, they do still have Reggie Williams, who finally started to show something last year. Have they completely given up on Matt Jones? Is he that far gone?

WOW.CJ in Indy could be fun but will ruin a lot of FF players hopes. My league mate has the rights to Johnson and wont be happy with him in Indy.

i think this drops CJ down (as well as Felix) . Ray Rice could end up in a better situation.

Because Keller has shown more lately than Davis. :hifive:I don't see much of a difference between the TEs. Some are a little more physical than others.

Lofton is an enigma to me. I know his reputation is good and he would certainly be a good fit here. Sims is gone to the Bucs a couple picks ago.I would like the Utecht signing.

I think the top three WRs for the Jags would be, given this scenario, Porter/Williams/Caldwell.I think they're going to cut Matt Jones.

I think none of you are going to like where I have Ray Rice ending up.

I would love to hear you say Clevenad in the 4th but that just ain't gonna happen. Pittsburgh?

60. Green Bay - Brad Cottam, TE - Tennessee

Fast riser coming back from injury for a team that loves the TE spot.

61. Dallas - Justin King, CB - Penn. St.

Fans want two CBs in the first two rounds for good reason.

I cant see the eagles taking a WR in the 1st ( look at their track record, 2 in the past 12 yrs i think ) unless he is a phenom at KR/PR. I would say Jackson but after coming to the combine weighing less then my leg, that is out the window. IMHO i see the birds trading up in the draft. Maybe grabbing Otah or Gholston

You're in the right region of the country.
Eagles?
I had really considered it, but no.
Not sure how far your region of the country stretches, but you must be talking about NE or Baltimore, and your right, guys with the 1.4 will not like either.

62. New England - Jonathan Goff, ILB - Vanderbilt

Inject some youth to learn before all the LBs retire at once.

63. New York Giants - Jordy Nelson, WR - Kansas St.

Bigger, faster guy that the Giants like (other than Sinorice Moss, that is).

The next drafted RB to try and take over for Rudi J??
Cant be, he said we would not like it, and as the owner of the 1.4, i would love that.

Maaaayybe.
If this is true, then your pick of TE in the 2nd was a HUGE mistake. No way they take 2 out of 3 on offense. NO WAY!Hopefully we can chalk this up to being unconventional, which I like to see, don't get me wrong, just not in this case.
