How do you pronounce these places?

If you are a native of a place that is commonly mispronounced do you correct the offending person?

What are some other commonly mispronounced places?

####### RIGHT YOU DO!!!

Here in L.A. the easiest way to tell if someone isn't from around here is if they call PCH "The PCH." It's simply "PCH" no "The," MORONS!!!

Another is a road called Sepulveda. SIH-PULL-VI-DUH

People from Texas pronounce it SUPPLE-VAY-DUH for some reason?

KUH-WING-UH

I am a MA-hole, I grew up outside of Boston on the South Shore.  I moved there when I was 6, so I never fully attained a 'Boston-accent,' however I know how things in New England are to be pronounced; the second city of Massachusetts is pronounced 'Woostah.' It doesn't end in an 'er' it ends in 'ah.'

Supple-Vay-Duh makes a lot more sense, but I will say it your way from now on. Thanks for the correction.

I've heard different pronunciations for Louisville. In my head Lool-ville and Loo-Uh-vill sound about the same. Maybe Chet or BroncoFreak2k can enlighten us.
My friends in Kentucky pronounce it Lool-ville. Louisville in Colorado is actually pronounced LOUIS-Ville
