How does one person decide to do this, let alone in a case where they know a second person who is willing to do it. So my first thought was that it might be somebody who was not involved, but was in the building somehow ended up with one of the shooters guns. Probably wrong, but every instinct in my body rejects the notion of one person being capable of this, never mind two.'Flying V said:This is why I could never be a cop. I'm always amazed when their are multiple people involved in these massacres. One person massacring innocent people is evil, but it could mean that one person was simply out of their mind. Multiple people, however, means that multiple people sat down, discussed the plan, and at no point did either have the good sense or morals to object. That's pure evil. Now more confirmation that a 2nd person in custody.
sorry but what category do you fall into under that comment?'LHUCKS said:Time for idiot Americans to work the obvious problem this country has.

A completely insane relative who believes that a child was being bullied, improperly singled out, and/or tormented in that classroom.Hey, look, I could work for a news station. I don't see the connection. Whats to stop an insane person from being convinced by someone slightly less insane to commit a horrible crime?I'm always amazed when their are multiple people involved in these massacres. Change the channel. Best way to discourage that crap is to not give them your viewership when they do it.Yah, I am having to mute the television when I see them interviewing children. No need for it. I think we, as a society, like to believe that people this evil are so rare that the odds of two of them finding each other are almost infinite.I don't see the connection. Brookfield, Bethel, and Monroe, I think, were reported to have gone into lockdown, along with Danbury Hospital. This is a few towns over from mine, the town where it seems one suspect was apprehended is one town over. My child's school went into lockdown today, and I got the emergency call on my cell to let me know about it. I can't fathom this kind of act.
Yeah, I'm not sure what the protocol is when you can discuss things but now would seem appropriate. I'm not sure what to feel. I'm angry, sad, confused and all types of emotions but one thing for damn sure is I want to do everything in my power to make sure this doesn't happen again. And that starts with talking about it. Many times after tragedies, the victim and their family try to make sure their death is not in vain by way of making sure it never happens again. But right after 9/11, the talk was why did this happen and what can we do about it? We got into a war and airline protocol was completely changed.I'm not personally of the opinion that stricter gun control laws are the end-all solution to these things, but when there are two shooting rampages on opposite sides of the country within four days of one another, the gun-regulation crowd is probably wondering when they're allowed to discuss regulations. It often seems that these shootings get closer and closer together.'General Tso said:Can we please stop with the ####### gun control debate???? There will be plenty of time for that later. Why don't we wait for things to settle down a bit before you political circus animals start in on your usual BS?
I personally don't own a gun and never will. I also have no idea why any human would want to own an assault weapon, that is specifically designed to fire rounds fast and to KILL PEOPLE.
I also am disgusted that a person thinks that their life is so bad that its acceptable to go shoot up a freaking elementary school. What an awful human.
Finally, you have to admit that video games MIGHT be causing a problem here. We have people that play video games where they can walk around a city and mow people down with machine guns. They play on huge TV's and it almost seems life-like. It's not hard to imagine a person mentally snapping and acting out things they've been doing in video games, in real life.
Guns, people in general, video games...they are all part of the problem. It's hard to see how anyone could argue otherwise.
Not agreeing with the thought that video games are part of the problem necessarily, just saying that the kind of violent, gun video games that would be what he is referencing are pretty much only in America at high levels.
I'm not sure how this statement was meant. Many times after tragedies, the victim and their family try to make sure their death is not in vain by way of making sure it never happens again. Yeah that was the opposite of a convincing argument.I'm not sure how this statement was meant. Many times after tragedies, the victim and their family try to make sure their death is not in vain by way of making sure it never happens again. But right after 9/11, the talk was why did this happen and what can we do about it? We got into a war and airline protocol was completely changed.
We've seen individual murderers like Jared Loughner or Mark David Chapman found insane. Have you ever heard of all the members of a murder conspiracy found insane?I don't see the connection. I think if you cut out the word "but" it's consistent. I'm going with "we're discussing it immediately to start moving in a direction where real change comes from this incident, just like after 9/11."I'm not sure how this statement was meant. Many times after tragedies, the victim and their family try to make sure their death is not in vain by way of making sure it never happens again. Yeah, and I'm sure the people in this thread who have children in schools that are still in lockdown really give a flying #### about you wanting to have a gun control debate when we are still trying to understand what is going on here. Is it terrorism? Isolated incident? Possibility of other attacks? Leave it for later please.Yeah, I'm not sure what the protocol is when you can discuss things but now would seem appropriate.
