Any chance there's a stat correction coming? (1 Viewer)

I was on the short end of the stick this week and lost out by 1/2 a point. In my league the point totals are not locked in stone until the following weeks games begin. PTTS emoticons aside, does anyone anticipate a stat correction from Elias for any games from week 14? How late can we expect a stat change from them?

We had a game in our league come down to one point. I brought this up in the MNF thread, but I'm not sure how many people are reading it now that the game is over. Anyway, the Bears are being credited for a sack on the play where the defensive lineman took Bulger's head off and rec'd a 15 yard penalty. Is this normal protocol -- receiving credit for a sack, even though the sack may have been a direct result of an action which resulted in a penalty being called?

I would take a guess that the sack still counts. A sack is a sack, even if there's unnecessary roughness. This is precisely the stuff I'm looking for though. I know ESPN uses Elias and it looks like stat corrections are posted every Wednesday. I'm just wondering if there's a reason to get my hopes up.

In the Packer game, right before the half Favre was sacked and they called it a fumble, i believe they later corrected this and said it was only a sack no fumble

Yes, since they got the yardage. If the penalty had negated the play, the Rams would have gotten 15 yards from the original line of scrimmage, not from the point of the sack.So it was a sack.

What about the extra point in tonights game where the bears recovered the mis-snap?? Do they get a point for that or is it just "extra point conversion failed"?It was not scored a fumble..... I won by .2 points but if it is changed to a def fumble recovery I lose

In my league, all stats must be corrected before the Saturday following the game in question. What if there's a Thursday game? I bet I'm SOL if something applicable changes after Thursday kickoff!

Impetus for a rule change for next year.Option 1: All stats must be corrected before the Saturday following the game in question OR X hours before the first game of the following week, whichever comes first.orOption 2: All stats must be corrected before Thursday X AM. (X flexible based on timezone, but should be at least 2 hours before a Thanksgiving kickoff).I prefer 1.

theres some question as to whether DJAX had 5-72-1 or 5-60-1...that might be changed.
That really scared me. I'm currently up by .9 points and had to go check to see what AOL had Jackson with. Thank goodness they already have him at 60 yards! After the late afternoon games my opponent and I both had no players left and I had a 3.3 point victory. Fast forward to Sunday night and suddenly the score was down to 1.9 points. Fast forward to Monday afternoon and another stat adjustment and I was up by just .9 points.

Another one here... lost by .1 point. Gah! I take it the St. Loius's missed xp isn't considered blocked either? It is just an oops?

Fanball has Wilkins with a missed PAT on the bad snap, which I think is wrong since he never kicked the ball. Not sure what service fanball uses, or whether other sites are affected. So if your league subtracts points for kicker misses, that could come into play.

Ordinarily, I wouldn't even spend time looking into this, but I'm out of the playoffs by less than 1 point, so it makes a difference.

In the Carolina/Giants, game, ESPN has this from the third quarter:

(4:34) E.Manning sacked at NYG 2 for -6 yards (Team). FUMBLES (Team), recovered by NYG-J.Finn at NYG 10. J.Finn to NYG 10 for no gain (M.Kemoeatu).

That sack for the Carolina D is the only thing between me and the playoffs. So here's my question: if Manning fumbled, and the play continued, how can this be a sack? Isn't a sack a tackle, which would by definition end the play?

A sack can occur when a defender knocks the ball loose out of the QB's hand prior to making a passing motion. A sack / forced fumble is given when guys hit the QB and knock the ball loose as in the Merriman play in the 4th quarter. It was a sack + forced fumble. The Carolina D will retain that sack......looks like you have no paddle on the creek we all love.

That Carolina sack was originally scored on NFL.com as a sack and FF by Julius Peppers. They changed it to a team sack later in the game.

I have Peppers and noticed the point reduction when it happened.

So is it correct to assume that if it is credited as a sack then it would be a "team sack?" If not, I believe Alex Brown got that sack and would give me the 1.4 points I need that I lost by last night. Anyone?

what's the word from CBS leagues on the Wilkens PAT/Bears FGB?

in our leage it's being scored for the Bears, but not against Wilkens... how can that be? (Wilkens is 3/3 on XPs in NFL.com's boxscore)

also... anyone get pts for a block FG from the Bengals D?

Anyone know what happened with Shayne Graham's XP attempt? Was it blocked? Did he miss it? Bad snap? I checked the game page and there was no mention of it.

A question for the stat-change veterans around here: if an official change is made, where are they reflected? I see in the FAQs on NFL.com that the Gamebook does not change, but apparently stats elsewhere are updated. Does ESPN change its box scores?

I suggested last year that we have a sticky thread during playoff time for potential scoring changes/disputes. I know helps me as a commish to know this stuff in advance, before I hear from an angry owner on Saturday night.

 How about it mods?

If you are out just let it go.

I had a 3 game lead with 3 to play.

I lost a game by 0.05 points (1 yard passing or 0.5 yards rushing/receiving). Any changes in defensive scoring would have saved this one for me. Tiki's last carry in the Monday night game was for -1 yards.

I lost a game by 0.4 points (4 yards rushing/receiving). Any changes in defensive scoring would have saved this one for me. Alexander's last rush in the Sunday (or Monday?) night game was for 8 yards.

I lost my other game by a wider margin. I ended up tied for the last spot and lost the tiebreaker.

Last week was Rd 1 and I was the high scorer in the league.

Just let it go...

FFL stat changes

These are the rules about stat changes for the Phenoms leagues which I believe are pretty good rules.

Scoring may be corrected if the following 4 criteria are met:

i. The NFL officially changes the statistics

ii. The change is made on the myfantasyleague.com website

iii. It is brought to the Commissioner’s attention

iv. The change is made prior to kickoff of the week following the correction

All leagues should have these rules before start of season!
