Deion Branch-WR-Seahawks Nov. 7 - 3:58 pm et Deion Branch (foot) will not practice Wednesday. He could be listed as questionable again this week. Branch's recovery from a foot injury has come along slower than expected. He does, however, have an extra day to get ready for Monday night's matchup against San Francisco.Source: Seattle TimesHe didn't practice today.
If this is the article you're talking then I would agree with you. The tone of Branch's comments don't strike me as the comments of someone who's ready to return to the field this week. Hopefully I'm wrong because I'm getting sick of Branch missing great matchups.Linkmy two cents after reading a story on branch today is that he won't play this week.
Man, not only is this little dude injury prone, but he also appears to be a REALLY slow healer. If this is the article you're talking then I would agree with you. At least he's not sitting on a cart. This is slightly encouraging.packersfan said:From Wednesday's practice:
Branch worked separately, doing running drills, and did not wear pads. He said he’s day-to-day.

Don't count on it. At best he'll be listed as probable and will most likely be a GTD. There will be no media at the practice so you'll have to rely entirely on coach speak. So based on the above, Sat practice will determine if he is capable of playing. I would really love to hear something definitive tomorrow!!
Am I missing something? I thought Engram started at Branch's spot last week....and assume that he would again this week if Branch can't go.KIRKLAND, Wash. (AP) -If the Seahawks' Friday practice was any indication, Deion Branch may return from an injury in time to play Monday night against San Francisco. But triple-dinged Shaun Alexander could be out for the first time this season.
Branch, Seattle's leading receiver, returned to the field wearing a helmet and practice uniform for the first time since spraining his right foot early in the loss at Pittsburgh on Oct. 7.
The former Super Bowl MVP ran on the side without apparent pain or hindrance while the rest of the Seahawks practiced. He will get a more extensive test in practice on Saturday, when coach Mike Holmgren will determine if Branch can play for the first time in four games. If Branch can't, Nate Burleson and D.J. Hackett will likely start again at wide receiver.
Hackett, Burleson, and Engram all started last week. If Branch can go this week, he'd replace Burleson. Engram would stay in the slot.Am I missing something? See Sweeney's post. My point was that, in 2 WR sets, Engram is one of the WRs on the field. He plays flanker, and moves to slot in the 3-WR set. Is that inaccurate?Hackett, Burleson, and Engram all started last week. If Branch can go this week, he'd replace Burleson. Engram would stay in the slot.Am I missing something? This seems like a "if this was a playoff week I would be out there Sunday night, but I could use one more week off so I doubt I'll play" article.Personaly I need him to start, but I'm going to need to prepare for another option.Link
Branch nearing return to field

KIRKLAND – At Seattle Seahawks practice, a quick flash of neon green means one of two things. Either Julian Peterson has thrown one of his specially designed shoes or Deion Branch and his bright gloves are on the field.
On Friday, it was Branch causing a colorful, if short, display. The Seahawks receiver, who has been limited to rehabilitation work while recovering from a foot injury, donned a helmet and ran a few plays.
“It’s good just to get back out there with the guys,” said Branch, who has not played since Oct. 7. “I’m glad to be back out there.”
His status for Monday night’s game against San Francisco is questionable, which means he has a 50-50 chance of playing. Coach Mike Holmgren said Branch will be a game-time decision.
Five other ailing players – Shaun Alexander, Marcus Pollard, Patrick Kerney, Baraka Atkins and Niko Koutouvides – also were listed as questionable.
Holmgren declared backups Will Herring and Ray Willis out for the game and said starting linebacker Leroy Hill, who injured his hamstring last week at Cleveland, is doubtful. If Hill sits, expect Kevin Bentley to take his place.
Alexander, who has not practiced with the team so far this week because of a knee injury, is doing conditioning drills, Holmgren said. The running back, also a game-time decision, and will be replaced by Maurice Morris if he can’t go.
Holmgren said Branch, Alexander and the others listed as questionable have to be able to run without hurting in today’s closed-to-the-media practice.
“Branch, as an example, his game is quickness and speed and he’s got to be able to do that,” Holmgren said. “Otherwise I would be doing him a disservice, as well as the team, (by playing him).”
Branch said it’s not one thing holding him back, just a little bit of everything.
“It’s a progression,” he said. “I think everything has got to be right. It’s getting better, every day it’s better. As long as we don’t have any setbacks, we’re good.”
Branch, who was the Seahawks’ leading receiver when he was hurt with 22 catches for 343 yards, said he’s getting antsy to get back on the field.
“You always feel that way, especially when you’ve been out,” he said. “You’ve got to be patient and understand what’s going on, and I do.”
