Ideally I'd grab a top level forward at 4 overall and come back with Eichel next round and then end up with a goalie in the 5th round (3rd round of draft)never too early to draft Eichel imo
Yeah it's 10 teams, seems very win based. 5 for goalie wins, 0.2 per save and -1 a goal. I do have Jake Allen.... Dubnyk, Talbot or Rask could be there at 1.4 with the first two having high Vegas team win totals. If your draft is anything like the one we do here, goalies will be at a premium even though you already have one. With only 10 teams maybe not as much, but don't wait too long.
I would aim for Benn or Seguin at No. 4, then maybe one of the stud D in the next round -- particularly if Weber or Doughty still are there.
um, Eichel is a top level forward. was 11th in ppg last year and led the league in shots/game.Ideally I'd grab a top level forward at 4 overall and come back with Eichel next round and then end up with a goalie in the 5th round (3rd round of draft)
I'm aware. I just can't justify taking him over Ovechkin, Benn, or Seguin? or a top 5 goalie at 1.4um, Eichel is a top level forward. was 11th in ppg last year and led the league in shots/game.

The homer in me really wants to, I can then change my team name to McEichel
That said, the gap is closing because of young centers Auston Matthews (Toronto Maple Leafs) and Jack Eichel (Buffalo Sabres). Eichel (on a per-game basis) and Matthews covered goals, points, power-play points and shots on goal at elite levels, making each well worth a first-round pick in any format. The center position remains extremely deep, with Mark Scheifele (Winnipeg Jets), John Tavares (New York Islanders) and Tyler Seguin (Dallas Stars) attainable in the second round with top 10 overall upside.
1. Connor McDavid, C, EDM
2. Sidney Crosby, C, PIT
3. Auston Matthews, C, TOR
4. Evgeni Malkin, C, PIT
5. Jack Eichel, C, BUF
6. Nicklas Backstrom, C, WSH
7. Tyler Seguin, C/RW, DAL
8. Mark Scheifele, C, WPG
9. John Tavares, C, NYI
10. Steven Stamkos, C, TBL
Interesting. I suppose I could take Matthews at 1.4, but he and Eichel are close. The tie goes to the guy I can watch all year.https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-fantasy-hockey-center-rankings-2017-18/c-290840574
Eichel > Seguin

sounds like something is wrong with your league's scoring system.I bought the Rotowire app - It projects Eichel at 211 points, Ovechkin 289, Marchand 264, Benn 241, Seguin 241, Matthews 241, Pavelski 240...
Eichel is 37th overall.
I'm not sure what I'd compare it to.sounds like something is wrong with your league's scoring system.
ESPN has Marchand ranked 5th overall (4th among skaters) with 38g, 42aYeah, I don't see Eichel being anywhere near any of the other Fs you listed based on that scoring system -- aside from maybe Draisaitl. I don't see how you take him ahead of any of Ovie, Matthews, Seguin, Benn or even Marchand. I might even take Josi ahead of him.
Tough call ... he's probably too good to slip to the 2nd round but I can't see him going at No. 4. But that's just me.
Eichel 58th overall - These rankings look are ranking goalies higher than most. Seems more in-line.ESPN has Marchand ranked 5th overall (4th among skaters) with 38g, 42a
http://games.espn.com/fhl/tools/projections?display=alt&startIndex=0
FWIW, they have Seguin at 32g,41a and Eichel at 28g, 38a
also Benn 38g, 50a and Ovechkin 37g, 32a
last year Eichel scored 24 goals in 61 games played. That's a rate of 32 goals in an 82 game season.I have my doubts that Marchand will be able to repeat those kind of numbers this season, but we'll see.
Anyway, it's the disparity in goals scored for all of those guys in that scoring system that would make it impossible for me to take Eichel ahead of any of them.
Agree here, I'd be shying away from Marchand here.I have my doubts that Marchand will be able to repeat those kind of numbers this season, but we'll see.

Sure he can. But those ESPN rankings you posted have him at 28. That's a 30-point difference from Benn and Marchand just in that one category.last year Eichel scored 24 goals in 61 games played. That's a rate of 32 goals in an 82 game season.
He averaged over 4 shots on goal/game. You don't think he can improve his shot % enough to hit 35+ goals?
I wouldn't take him at 4 either most likely (in this format), but he's not going to slide much past that imo.Sure he can. But those ESPN rankings you posted have him at 28. That's a 30-point difference from Benn and Marchand just in that one category.
Obviously all projections are a crap shoot. TSN projects him to 31 goals, but that's still fewer than any of those guys listed. Even if he reaches 35, is that worth the gamble that he finishes ahead of any/all of those other players? I'm not sure I would take that bet.
Like I said, tough call for a Sabres fan who obviously loves the guy. I just don't think No. 4 is the right spot for him, and he'll probably be gone before it gets back to him.
I had one draft last night and another on Saturday. I love that you got Talbot. The Pacific has some low scoring teams including Vegas. How'd I do guys?
Mcdavid (Keeper)
Seguin
Draisaltl
Monahan
Radulov
Zuccarello
Josi
Hamilton
Trouba
Seth Jones
Allen (Keeper)
Talbot
bench. Burakovsky, Kopitar, Wennberg, Suter, Klefboom, Darling
Thoughts?
I took Talbot at 1.4 (So the 24th player overall)I had one draft last night and another on Saturday. I love that you got Talbot. The Pacific has some low scoring teams including Vegas.
All things considered, you're lucky to have gotten a player of Seguin's quality with your first pick. Not sure how your draft played out, so hard to say. Where did Eichel go? I'm a big Draisaitl fan. Off McDavid's line would hurt, but still lethal on that powerplay.
Coyle is a free agent:needs more Coyle
Ended up taking Seguin. Prob should have taken Eichel. Maybe I can trade Seguin for Eichel and get a small upgrade elsewhere.I think the Coyle comment was a joke.
I thought you wanted Eichel with your second pick.
10how many owners in this league? feels like a 6-person league.
Trying Seguin and Darling for Vasielevsky (sp. TB goalie) and Eichel.I think the Coyle comment was a joke.
I thought you wanted Eichel with your second pick.
Pick 2 to add in a points league (Rank top 5) @Aaron Rudnicki @NYRAGE @Dickie Dunn primarily bench guys, so upside is nice.
Evander Kane - 1st PP unit and 1st line. Good for goals, shots and PIMs, Bad at everything else
Nino Niederreiter Good improvement last year. Solid player.
Alex DeBrincat - playing with Kane for how long? Last I saw, he was not on Kane's line after all and who knows if he sticks around past 9 games.
Matt Duchene - 1st line, 1st PP, bad plus/- What a terrible season last year. That +/- can kill you for the pts he puts up. Worth it???
Tomas Meier - Timo?
Shea Theodore He might be a year away from a breakout, but should get plenty of opportunities
Dadonov - 1st line and 1st PP unit. On a great line. I like him.
Vrana - playing with Ovechkin. Potential to break out. Kind of want to see it first.
Muzzin Coming off a terrible season
Brodie meh
Gudas Only if your PIMs are weighted like a goal.
Eberle - 1st line and 1st pp unit - Mr. Softee does offer up some potential playing with JT
Strome (EDM) - playing with McDavid. Was practicing on a lower line. pass
Jonathan Marchessault Will get plenty of playing time, but could end up minus 40+
Clayton Keller - sleeper? I would need to see him play for a while first
Jenner Hurt and coming off a bad year. Would need to see him play well again.
Sam- Bennett - Finally a break out? Doubt it
Trocheck - Maybe, but questionable linemates and +/-
Sam Reinhart - currently line 3.... Not while on the third line
um, Eichel is a top level forward. was 11th in ppg last year and led the league in shots/game.
Dobber has JE getting 30 goals and 45 assists this year--around 10th in the league points.last year Eichel scored 24 goals in 61 games played. That's a rate of 32 goals in an 82 game season.
