Sorry good buddy, but I have to take issue with this, because this is close to being flat out misleading. While it's true the Colts ran the ball more than they had the week before (which, considering Manning had a career-high in completions the week before is not saying a ton) - they did throw the ball 26 times. So 2 targets against the Giants in a game where the Colts ran the ball a lot because the defense invited them to, and even so the offense still supported 3 targets in the passing game, tells you all you all the sgns of potential futility you need to know to assess Garcon?![]()
If so, then methinks you already had made up your mind going into this game.
Wayne - 9 targets/7 receptions for 96 yards and a TD
Clark - 7 targets/5 recptions for 83 yards and a TD
Collie - 4 targets/4 catches for 25 yards and a TD
Addai - 3 target/2 catches for 21 yards
Garcon - 2 targets/ 1 catch for 11 yards
The point is not that the Colts ran more (although that does of course reduce Garcon's targets as well - especially important given his low catch%) - it's his place on the list - 5th.
The combination that he is not the #1, #2 or even #3 option in the passing game, combined with his poor catch % is the concern - and has been, going back further than just these past two games.
The bolded part could also apply to Garcon owners who want him to be the #2 option...but that wont make it the case.
