There is another horror thread that is filled with reviews/suggestions.I love me a good healthy Horror flicks, especially the classics and ones that were't main-stream like House of a 1000 Corpses, Devil's Rejects, etc..but also ones like The Shining as well.
List some of your favs. Maybe I've seen them too.
That one where the girl gets hacked up and put in the trunk of a Honda.
But seriously, check out the horror megathread. Tons of non-mainstream recommendations.
Np, post over there what you like, and I am sure you will get a ton of suggestions. Ie- Do you watch foreign horror movies?Ok, sorry.
..and you haven't eaten for a bit.Just make sure you're watching the French version.
They finished filming the sequel. So old you may have not bothered to see - Nosferatu (silent), Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein
Foreign - The Orphanage, A Tale of Two Sisters, The Eye
Obscure - Soft For Digging, Hell House LLC, Bone Tomahawk
Believe the Hype - The Exorcist, The Shining, Psycho, Frailty
Guilty Pleasure - Knock Knock
My go-to recommendation for foreign horror is always Martyrs. Just make sure you're watching the French version.
I’ve thought about watching it again (I’ve only seen it once), but just can’t do it...and you haven't eaten for a bit.
I thought Wings won the first Academy Award for Best Picture. Since I'm not afraid of flying, I don't consider that horror.Because I am 5% Autistic, I have a list of my Best Picture Winners starting in 1920 and the first 3 winners were horror films. There were no other horror films since to receive this "honor"
I'd imagine the same would be true of The Human Centipede. I've never seen it and know too much about it to ever try...and you haven't eaten for a bit.
Caligari for 1920 and Nosferatu for 1922? I’m down with those. Which one for 1921?Because I am 5% Autistic, I have a list of my Best Picture Winners starting in 1920 and the first 3 winners were horror films. There were no other horror films since to receive this "honor"
Honestly, I think Martyrs is worse (as far as stomach-churning levels only - it's by far a better movie).I'd imagine the same would be true of The Human Centipede. I've never seen it and know too much about it to ever try.
Sequel to Hell House LLC?? How is there a sequel? They finished filming the sequel.
I meant my own list. Like which movie I personally think was the best of the movies I had seen each year.I thought Wings won the first Academy Award for Best Picture. Since I'm not afraid of flying, I don't consider that horror.
Actually not Nosferatu. 21 is The Phantom Carriage and 22 is Haxan. Now keep in mind I haven't seen many movies from these years so it's picking from a handful. Phantom Carriage is borderline horror- it's half ghost story, half It's a Wonderful Life. The legend is that the last person that dies before midnight on New Years Eve must drive the Phantom Carriage for the next year- the carriage goes around all year retrieving the dead. Haxan is a weird psuedo documentary on witches and mental illness through history.Caligari for 1920 and Nosferatu for 1922? I’m down with those. Which one for 1921?
Interesting. I haven't seen either; will have to check out. When I was looking at a list of 1921 movies last night, I think the only one I had seen was Chaplin's "The Kid."Actually not Nosferatu. 21 is The Phantom Carriage and 22 is Haxan. The Kid is probably the onky other movie I have seen from that year as well.Interesting. I haven't seen either; will have to check out. When I was looking at a list of 1921 movies last night, I think the only one I had seen was Chaplin's "The Kid."
