I love me a good healthy Horror flicks, especially the classics and ones that aren't main-stream like House of a 1000 Corpses, Devil's Rejects, etc..but also ones like The Shining as well.

List some of your favs. Maybe I've seen them too.

That one where the girl gets hacked up and put in the trunk of a Honda.

But seriously, check out the horror megathread.  Tons of non-mainstream recommendations.

There is another horror thread that is filled with reviews/suggestions.

So old you may have not bothered to see - Nosferatu (silent), Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein

Foreign - The Orphanage, A Tale of Two Sisters, The Eye

Obscure - Soft For Digging, Hell House LLC, Bone Tomahawk

Believe the Hype - The Exorcist, The Shining, Psycho, Frailty

Guilty Pleasure - Knock Knock

My go-to recommendation for foreign horror is always Martyrs.  Just make sure you're watching the French version.

Because I am 5% Autistic, I have a list of my Best Picture Winners starting in 1920 and the first 3 winners were horror films. There were no other horror films since to receive this "honor"

They finished filming the sequel.

 I thought Wings won the first Academy Award for Best Picture.  Since I'm not afraid of flying, I don't consider that horror.

Caligari for 1920 and Nosferatu for 1922?  I’m down with those.  Which one for 1921?

I'd imagine the same would be true of The Human Centipede.  I've never seen it and know too much about it to ever try.
Honestly, I think Martyrs is worse (as far as stomach-churning levels only - it's by far a better movie).

IMO the first HC was mostly about the concept getting in your head, and I didn't think it was as graphic as some out there. The worst part was a scene where he showed them pics and explained what he was going to do.  However, I was very thankful that HC2 was in black and white as that ramped it up a bit.

anything Vincent Price, including MJs Thriller Video.

Shining. I consider Clockwork Orange a masterpiece horror flick although it's probably more drama/suspense.it's a horror flick IMO. awesome , awesome movie!

I saw Full Metal Jacket on opening nite.. double barrel purple mesc about 30 mins before the movie started.sat in front row. that suicide bathroom scene was incredible.the whole theater was squirming in their seats saying 'oh that's sick, that's disgusting' ..my friends and I were like HOLY crap that was @*@#$@# AWESOME!!! we were throwing down high fives..the entire opening 5 minutes were incredible..we were so glued to the screen it was unreal. but it came across to me as a horror flick, it was crazy scary stuff I was more scared watching this movie than almost any other horror flick I've ever sceen..Kubrick used such a good suspense-type of soundtrack on the movie, it was very horror-film like..

the Omen movies were great. Rosemary's baby might've been the sickest movie ever made..Children of the Corn, Carrie,Christine, Halloween , Psycho, etc. the classics..the original Night of the Living Dead is the best, just a simplistic, yet totally scary movie!

I meant my own list. Like which movie I personally think was the best of the movies I had seen each year.

Actually not Nosferatu. 21 is The Phantom Carriage and 22 is Haxan. Now keep in mind I haven't seen many movies from these years so it's picking from a handful. Phantom Carriage is borderline horror- it's half ghost story, half It's a Wonderful Life. The legend is that the last person that dies before midnight on New Years Eve must drive the Phantom Carriage for the next year- the carriage goes around all year retrieving the dead. Haxan is a weird psuedo documentary on witches and mental illness through history.

Haxan is one of the weirdest movies ever. Just look at this thing.

Interesting.  I haven't seen either; will have to check out.  When I was looking at a list of 1921 movies last night, I think the only one I had seen was Chaplin's "The Kid."

The Kid is probably the onky other movie I have seen from that year as well.
