Any one dropped L.J. yet? (1 Viewer)

As an L.J. owner who is still in the playoff hunt and not wanting a useless spot (If Rotoworld's news is indeed true). I am considering dropping L.J. for Hall, Droughns or even Ricky "Rasta" Williams. Anyone else done this yet or are you still holding out hope for L.J. to return?

Herm was just on Sirus and said that there is no truth to the rumor about LJ and he will be back this season. For what it is worth he sounded pretty confident in that.

I dropped him last week due to our 12 man rosters. I also have ADP out with injury so I can only carry so many. Though, I did drop LJ for Ricky Williams. With Bush and ADP/Chester Taylor, LJ really doesn't have much chance of getting a start even if he comes back.

I don't believe he's coming back and I am tired of being misled by teams regarding injury severity.

Williams, on the other hand, could be great IF he plays and if he picks up where Brown left off (who was posting great numbers). I am already in the playoffs and by week 14 we may see Ricky do something. Worth a gamble.

I rolled the dice. Likely a loser on this gamble either way.

Dropped LJ the first week after he got hurt! ;) Then there was news he was "healing." Somebody in my league then grabbed LJ. :( I am VERY :D However, now reports are he may not come back. But the way I see it, even if he does come back, I don't see him being the same.

I started Bush over LJ even before he was hurt. That would not change, though I have not been overly impressed with Bush either. If he comes back it won't be for a couple of weeks at least and I am not going to stick him in there immediately. The fantasy playoffs will likely be over before I start him unless another back goes down.

Aah, gotcha. I thought you meant starting for KC.

It's a redraft league. I dropped what I consider to be dead weight for someone who could win the league for me. I'll let you know the accuracy of my crystal ball in a few weeks. :goodposting:

I honestly can't see ricky doing anything. I mean, this guy was average at best in the CFL wasn't he? Maybe they try to get him in there to see what he has left but i hardly think he is gonna help anyone win anything this year.

On one hand you say LJ cannot crack your line up... but on the other you say RW can win your league for you. :D

I have freely admitted I don't know how it will play out. The premise of my drop was that LJ won't come back; if I am wrong and he comes back and plays well before week 15 then I likely erred. LJ was far from impressive while Ronnie Brown was lighting it up. IF, and I did say IF in my first post, Williams plays, he could be significant.

I just dropped him this morning and have no regrets. I don't care if he does come back later this season -- at least I don't have the headache of worrying about it going forward.

Yeah those 100+ yard with a TD days were sub-par.Keep convincing yourself you did the right thing.

Just curious.. Why wouldn't you drop Betts over LJ just in case he comes back. I would think he has more value than Betts since you don't have Portis..

Sources close to Larry Johnson indicate that the Chiefs and their star runner are expecting to shut Johnson down for the season.

The decision was apparently made before the results of a Monday MRI are revealed. While the news may not officially announced right away, the team and Johnson were looking at a best case scenario in which Johnson would return for a few meaningless games. L.J's rivalry with Priest Holmes was playing a factor in Johnson's desire to return, but that's not enough to risk jeopardizing his career. Johnson owners can wait to hear confirmation, but don't expect him to help your fantasy squads again.

This is an old report. Herm was pretty convincing this moring when he said he will play this season. I can't see any reason why he wouldsay this if he didn't believe it was true.

Personally I am not cutting LJ until the eulogy is read over his casket. Our Super Bowl is week 16 and he has Detroit. I hope he sits as long as he needs, just as long as he plays week 14/15 as a warm up for the 125/ 2 td game I hope to get if I'm there.

As far as cutting him without full info to pick up Reefer Man after a long layoff on the hopes that Miami would even start him on their sucky team is a guppy move. OVER MANAGEMENT at its finest.

That and Herm Knew Priest was done and that K. Smith blows.

The post asked a question and I answered. If some folks can't get it through their heads that I concluded that LJ won't return and that was the basis for my decision then so be it.I have guppy moved myself into the strongest team in my league throughout the course of the season. Intelligent moves frequently look like guppy moves until they pan out. Otherwise, everyone would do the same thing. The definition of a shark move is to look past what others miss. Cutting someone I don't think is going to play again is hardly breathtaking.
