Rumors are swirling that Tim Lincecum could end up with the Reds. I've heard Josh Hamilton, and Homer Bailey are in the mix. What are you hearing?
I'd trade my brother and his first born for Bruce FWIW.I as a Giants fan would be more interested in a deal involving Noah Lowry and Edwin Encarnacion. The Giants blogs I read are talking about Jay Bruce in any deal for Lincecum. I don't think that deal will get done.
Not really. The Giants have so many holes on offense that they need to listen to any offers. If they could get, say, Jay Bruce, Joey Votto, and a promising young (like A ball) pitching prospect, for Lincecum, they'd be silly not to do it. It is impossible to overstate how bad the Giants offense is and how badly they need an infusion of young talented hitters. So, are the Giants expecting his arm to fall off within the next year? If not, I hope the Giants GM seeks help, asap...
My sense is that the Giants will have to get blown away to move Lincecum. He'syoung and cheap and dominant and has a great chance to be on the next good Giants team. I'm not saying he's untouchable but we'll totally scream if they trade him and they don't get back a ridiculous amount of talent.I'd love to have Lincecuum. I know that Josh Hamilton, Edwin Encarnacion, and Homer Bailey have all been mentioned prominently in trade talks. I'm not sure what it would take to get this deal done. I'd hate to lose Bruce or Votto.
When is Rios eligible for Free Agency? The Giants need players they can control for 4+ years - I think everyone understands that they're not winning anything for at least the next 2. It makes no sense to trade a young pitcher who's locked up for 5 years for a player who could leave after only 2 more years.I think that a deal would have to be comperable to what just happened between Tigers and Marlins. Major players going in both directions, or else not a chance. Supposedly Jays are offering Rios, for Linecum.
Unless Sabean was able to get something pretty lopsided, there would be mobs with torches and pitchforks once he got back from Nashville. Unless Votto+, or Bruce is in the deal I think Sabean has for once done the right thing.Patrick Bateman said:The deal is dead. The Giants are asking too much.
If he gets traded to Cincinnati and plays for Dusty, his arm will fall off before Labor Day.So, are the Giants expecting his arm to fall off within the next year? If not, I hope the Giants GM seeks help, asap...
You're right it's not horrible, it's god awfulBalco said:Rios for Lincecum isn't a horrible deal for the Giants, although I think the Jays would need to throw in a minor league pitcher. Rios is a solid hitter, who is improving. He would be a good fit for the Giants.
