Thinking of finally playing video games again after at least a year of not playing any. My 360 is just a DVD player at this point.

Any nice XBox One X deals out there? Also, should I just save the $ & buy the S instead?

I mean the key difference is X is a true 4k system. It's not upscaled from 1080p like the S does. It's also just faster in general. That's the difference in price. Other than that though, all the same games play on it. The choice is up to you at that point.

If you don't have a 4k TV, do you get any picture upgrade? When you say faster, are you talking game play, use as a DVD player, or general navigation/ game load times?

Have an archaic 360 and thinking I might upgrade my "kids" system to a PS4 or One come christmas.

Think of a computer. When it has a faster processor and more ram, things load quicker. So load screens, startup, etc will be noticably quicker. Games themselves will run the same just a difference in graphics at that point.
