Website says it is, but Skaill House isn't.I'll second the recommendation for Edinburgh. I spent a couple days there in July and enjoyed it. My son was there in January and although the weather was a little nasty, he still had a great time.Have to be in London the first week of November but I'll have some free time after some meetings and thought I´d go see Skaera Brae (sp?). Seems like all the advertised paqckages close up in October.
Anybody know - is Skaera Brae even open in November?
I live in Washington State - sounds like home.Cold and dark and rainy in November. Don't know the place, but Scotland is not exactly the garden of Eden in the late fall/winter.
Sites like that in the UK are usually open year round.Have to be in London the first week of November but I'll have some free time after some meetings and thought I´d go see Skaera Brae (sp?). And, when you're walking down the Royal Mile, don't miss the Scotch Whiskey Museum--or the free samples in the gift shop.Flaming Moe said:Haven't been to Skara Brae but I'll cast another vote for Edinburgh. Start from Edinburgh Castle then go down the Royal Mile to Holyrood House -- lots of old buildings and old crosses on both sides. 4 1/2 hours by train from London or you can take the overnight sleeper. Bring an umbrella cuz it rains half the time.
going for work or visiting relatives?![]()
I am planning a trip this summer for a two week stay in Edinburgh.
What should I do and see while in Scotland?
Just for work related stuff ; relatives live in England.going for work or visiting relatives?![]()

Nope. The low road is faster.Take the high road...you'll get there earlier.
I've only been to Scotland once, it was beautiful. We stayed in a very small town on Loch Lomond for 3 nights, visiting friends. And I only spent a day in Edinburgh. We did a boat ride on the loch, which was really nice. I don't have more to recommend then whats already in the thread. Have fun.Just for work related stuff ; relatives live in England.going for work or visiting relatives?![]()
