Anyone bailing on Mendenhall? (1 Viewer)

Is he only valuable if FWP goes down? I'm looking at WW gems out there but not doing anything about it because of him taking up a seat on my bench.

Hold? Drop? Too early to panic?

I'm about to cut the cord, I picked up Hightower off the wire and I consider him more valuable at this point. I also have Vince young but haven't decided who to pick up for him yet. Possibly Trent Edwards.

If you can grab somebody else that will help your lineup out then I would do it. Mendenhall is a work in progress with great talent. Im from Pittsburgh and he had some fumbling issues in the preseason and Tomlin has lost faith in him. When asked if he still had confidence in Mendenhall Tomlin quoted "Would you have faith in a guy that has fumbled 3 times this preseason". Willy Parker is looking to have a big season so theres really no reason for Mendenhall to get much work unless the steelers are really pumbleing teams in the fourth quarter. He will have more value in the long term rather then now.

yeah, he's gone this week from mine once waivers run. Tomlin just doesnt trust him yet and wont give him meaningful carries

I think people that are dropping him at this point are going to regret it later on.

Parker is on pace for 400 or so carries. This will a) not continue or b) if it does Parker will be killed.

More true words have not been spoken. If they keep doing this to Willie, he himself realizes he'll die. From CBS today...
Willie Parker, RB PITNews: Steelers RB Willie Parker's 53 rushing attempts lead the league through two games. He is on a pace to carry more than 400 times, despite breaking his right leg in the next-to-last regular season game last year. So far, Parker has rushed for 243 yards and three touchdowns heading into Week 3 at Philadelphia. "I'm feeling great, my body's feeling good," Parker said. "But I ain't going to do 400 carries. I'll tell you right now, I ain't going to do 400 carries. I don't know about 300, but I'm not doing 400."
If you have the roster space, as I do, Mendenhall is a hold and could be big in the 2nd half.

He's a great buy-low right now. If you have him, hold him. Parker has not been durable and is getting overused. Mendenhall is still adjusting and when/if Parker goes down he'll be quite valuable. IMO he's worth more than someone who is getting minimal carries now but with limited upside, (e.g. Ricky Williams, Andre Hall, etc.) He isn't doing ANYTHING right now, but could be called upon to do A LOT. If you have some roster space I'd hold him.

I'm holding in the one league I have him b/c my team is pretty average and I'm going to need a home run to do much of anything. :moneybag:

He's definitely a guy that's hard to remain patient with b/c he's done zilch, but if you have to be rid of him he should have some value to the Parker owner. Just point out what Andy said:

Parker is on pace for 400 or so carries. This will a) not continue or b) if it does Parker will be killed.

Dude, thats old news, did that before week one for Felix Jones, and just traded him for Forte, hope it works out!!

i'm holdin onto him as a handcuff. it only wk 3. i'm bettin he has value in the second half of the season. he should be getting used to the NFL in the meantime.
