Anyone benching Chris Johnson tonight? (1 Viewer)

Why would you bench him against Indy?
He's 35th over the last 3 weeks, not so good. Some folks might have other options or RB3 types that suddenly look inviting. Why is he going to light it up tonight? What's changed in this offense since Vince Young checked out?

 Playing Blount against the Skins this weekend. got Charles as my other back. I've lost my last two not solely because of CJ but I'm burnt and scared to put him in again, potential or not.

I am on the verge of doing it....start 2 RB, PPR League......

Blount and Ivory (matchup envy more than last weeks point chasing????)

I wonder if I really am over thinking this...I tend to always swear by "dance with who brung ya", but have gone against that theory in the playoffs in the past and have had it cost me. In this case CJ has not ben a good dance partner the past couple weeks, and although tonights dance floor appears to favor CJ, I am beginning to fall into the camp that believe that the Titan players are not playing for the coach....it is my concern that as a freakin fantasy junkie in california, how can I possibly but faith in an assumption that the players quit on the coach!

No clue what I am doing....Have to think I will roll out my first round pick. but crazy enough to change it.

I can't bench him now, after playing him all (gulp) season so far. There's no way I'm going to be the guy that has CJ with 25 pts on the bench, and subject myself to a lifetime of ridicule from the guys in the league. Besides, all I can replace him with is Pierre Thomas. Makes the decision a no-brainer thank God...

Benching him for McCoy and Mendenhall. Makes me sick with this sweet matchup tonight. He could go for 200/3. I can't trust him when he's got an avg of 10 carries over the last two games.

I don't care how bad he's been lately.............no way he hits the pine. Live by the sword...........die by the sword.

No way. You'd have to have pretty amazing depth to make this a consideration IMO... depth rarely seen by any team in my leagues.

I can see where MOP is coming from, Titans offense and defense has been absolutely horrid. TEN could be down 21 in a heart beat, tough to run when you down by a bunch.

If he does badly this week (especially if bc of low touches) you can consider benching him next week. Though for many people if he does bad this week there won't be a next week :/

If I PM'd you my opponents' phone #, and you swore you would call him under the guise of Adam Schefter, AND told him that Ronnie Brown is the better play, I would be much appreciative.

The Colts are a 3 point favorite. What have you seen from the Colts recently that makes you think they could jump out to a 21 point lead agaisnt anyone?

I don't understand how so many are downplaying how bad the Titans offense has been these last two games against bad Houston and Jacksonville defenses.

 same thought process with Bradshaw, Ive rode them both to the playoffs, not abandoning ship now....although it helps when my other options are Donald Brown, Cedric Benson, and Marshawn Lynch :pickle:

I can see where folks would have something like CJ RB1, Forte-RB2, then 2-3 of the following sch as Freddie Jackson-CLE, Mike Tolbert-KC, D.McFadden-Jax, C.Ivory-Rams...the point is some folks wthout trying hard have some quality depth right now.

I play mostly best ball so it's a non issue for me personally but I would be scared to death starting him tonight. Team has quit on FIsher, he's a lame duck coach. Collins stinks and should retire already. Randy Moss doesn't help, no weapons left to do much damage not that Collins could light it up anyways. I just don't see one of those top3 nights. Hope I'm wrong.

This is my thinking as I stated..and with Blount / Ivory matchups I feel I am right considering it.

I'm benching Johnson and starting Blount.I can totally see the Titans down by 3 TD by halftime. Not because the Colts are good as much as the Titans seem to be mailing in the rest of the season and the coaching staff doesn't appear to have much interest in giving CJ touches. Two weeks they could have used him and chose not to, why are they going to start now?

I have to chose between these guys in a 14 team PPR:

C. Johnson

L. Blount

L. Tomlinson

Rolling with CJ and Blount.

The Titans
Care to make a monetary wager on it?
So you are confident Chris Johnson will blow the doors off Indy tonight, is that what you are implying? Because Manning has been run thru the mud all week and I am betting he wants to shut folks up tonight. I think he has the biggest axe to grind of anyone on the field tonight. Just my thoughts, would love to hear yours.

Blount has avg about 20/80/.5 TD the last 6 weeks. No threat to catch the ball. I'm not bullish on Johnson tonight but I couldn't bench Johnson for Blount, no way. Blount has little upside IMO.

Because:1. Indy can still put up points.2. I own Randy Moss & Titans D, and I have been watching the Titans trying to figure them out. They are horrible on both sides of the ball.

I will take all bets, i dont even need all 21 points, ill take the Titans +14.

What's nuts is that Johnson hasn't been much of a pass-catching threat either. Once Tennessee gets behind in around the 3rd quarter, CJ1K will almost exclusively become a blocker or run one of two routes, but the QB would rather throw it at a slow TE or FB. Then when the game is so far out of reach and the D is playing back, Fisher will bring in Ringer for the garbage carries. Seems like there is never a plan to keep Johnson involved late and down 2 TDs. Drives me nuts.

In the NFL, I would take ANYONE plus 14.

My thoughts are the same as in the post above, i will take the Titans +14.

Manning has been run through the mud before this week, didnt help at home against the Cowboys last week. Mannng has been grinding his axe for many weeks now, it hasnt helped him much.

There are times i would take a team -14, but this isnt one of those games.Anyway, i am just responding to the guys who think the Colts are going to win this game by 21+.

I think you are in a different thread. Folks are rationalizing ways where they feel Johnson cold flop tonight. You want to take bets on a Vegas line. I see what you did and where you are coming from but most of us are trying to gauge Johnson tonight. You haven't said a word about him yet.

Why are people so sure the Titans will be down so much in the 3rd quarter that they will give up on the run? I wouldnt be at all suprised if the Titans win this game.

Not saying how much they will lose by, saying they could be playing catch up all game which may hurt the run game.

I'm rollin' with CJ over Forte ...

ETA: I have the top playoff seed locked.

ETA2: If I had Blunt it would be a much tougher decision as I'm confident TB will win. I like the Titans chances of winning more than the Bears.

Not saying they lose, just that CJ isn't much of a receiving threat. I agree, tonight could be a good game.

I feel like you guys all got together to screw with me here. What is there to say, Chris Johnson is maybe the best RB in the league, and is playing against maybe the worst run defense in the league. There is not a single RB i would prefer to him this week. The worst part about it is in the leagues i own him, i am either out, or have a first round bye, so i dont even get to use him this week.

So you're bullish on him tonight, got it. What you say makes logical sense but Indy shut down Bradshaw, Charles, and Foster in their last meeting. Those are 3 top10 RBs.

That said they have given up 500 yards rushing the last 3 weeks. Maybe you're right. I'm buying what you're selling here but the Titans are not rollng a high octane offense on to the field. The Fisher stuff cannot be emphasized enough. Johnson was calling for the ball tonight, we'll see.

Not really that amazing. Many Chris Johnson owners grabbed value backs who have produced, like Foster and Hillis. It was possible for owners in a great many leagues to own Johnson/Foster/Hillis this season. In a start-2 league, one might be thinking about benching Johnson this week. It's just not terribly amazing to have quality, startable depth. It's what we all draft for.Me? I'm rolling with Johnson and McCoy (start-2). My alternatives are Green-Ellis, Greene, Starks and Snelling, so it's not that hard. Doesn't mean I didn't take a good look at BJGE this week.
