I don't have a problem with that, but they apparently can't stream old movies either.Movie studios wont allow them to stream new movies
yeah unless there are multiple seasons of a show I want to get caught up on, we just cancel.I think it's great for TV series and documentaries, but for movies, it kind of blows. Their movie selection sucks.
Meh.
cancelled it a few years ago. the movie selection was beyond horrible.I think it's great for TV series and documentaries, but for movies, it kind of blows. Their movie selection sucks.

You sound like me. I do unlimited disks though. Maybe I shouldn't.My Netflix queue is over 400 movies long.![]()
I can always find a movie on there that I want to see. I have the "One disc at a time, limit 2 a month plan" for new movies.
Works for me.
After the playoffs, I might switch back to unlimited DVD's until the summer.
There hasn't been that many good new movies over the past few months. Now that the playoffs are here, Saturday night is set with football. Lots of shows come back in January and February. 2 DVD's a month is fine for us. We've been checking out other shows like The Fall and Lillyhammer and watching Louie over again. Plus, like the OP says, streaming is good for documentaries. You sound like me. I do unlimited disks though. Maybe I shouldn't.My Netflix queue is over 400 movies long.![]()

My DVD queue is like 100. Then they end up on HBO or streaming and I replace them. Maybe 2 a month is enough, although it wouldn't work with recent tv show seasons like Dexter that are 3-4 discs. I never thought of revisiting my plan though. Thanks for prompting me.There hasn't been that many good new movies over the past few months. I couldn't agree more. Every time I think of a movie that I would like to see, from 20+ years ago mind you, it isn't available 90% of the time.I think it's great for TV series and documentaries, but for movies, it kind of blows. Their movie selection sucks.

Really? I just got prime and am finding them very much the same. I'm not liking their interface though, especially with tv shows/seasons. Is there any way to see what's exclusive to each service?I agree their movie selection - particularly with classics - is very limited. I am finding Amazon Prime to be much better with overall selection.
I watched House of Cards via Redbox. Its worth it for house of cards though and arrested development.
I find Prime to be better for older movies - I've ripped through the entire NetFlix library and came away pretty disappointed.Really? I just got prime and am finding them very much the same. Hulu is good for current TV shows and that's about it. Their movie selection is nonexistent. It is fine. I also have Prime but I might add Hulu for access to more movies. It's still better than cable.
Recently signed up for my 1-month free Netflix trial and my 1-week free Hulu plus. Decided I'm not keeping Hulu because I see nothing on there that isn't on Netflix. Agree about the movie selection on Netflix - I was disappointed. Right now I'm just plowing through Breaking Bad (never watched before) and then I think I'm hitting Sons of Anarchy. Will re-evaluate after that.Hulu is good for current TV shows and that's about it. Their movie selection is nonexistent. It is fine. I also have Prime but I might add Hulu for access to more movies. I thought the Criterion Collection was available via Hulu or Hulu +?#pagingBobMaGawHulu is good for current TV shows and that's about it. Their movie selection is nonexistent. It is fine. I also have Prime but I might add Hulu for access to more movies. It's still better than cable.
Is there a way to see the listing of stuff in UK without doing this? The selection on Netflix in the US is terrible. The selection on Netflix in the UK, though? ####### AWESOME. So I change the DNS setting on my Apple TV and access Netflix UK whenever there's something I want to watch that's not available in the US. There's a plugin for Google Chrome that'll do the same thing if I want to watch something on my computer.

Yeah, they have it. I don't dig old movies though, so that doesn't really do anything for me.I thought the Criterion Collection was available via Hulu or Hulu +?#pagingBobMaGawHulu is good for current TV shows and that's about it. I have both and prefer Netflix by a wide margin.Amazon prime is so much better. Got rid of this years ago when they split movies and streaming.
I was originally responding with just streaming in mind. I forgot people still went the physical disc route still.cancelled it a few years ago. the movie selection was beyond horrible.I think it's great for TV series and documentaries, but for movies, it kind of blows. Their movie selection sucks.
Meh.
for $8 a month and the ability to watch all sorts of stuff nope.
Yeah me too. I use Netflix a bit nefariously though so it's worth it to me to have it and Prime. Prime's interface really sucks as well.I have both and prefer Netflix by a wide margin.Amazon prime is so much better. Got rid of this years ago when they split movies and streaming.

It's not necessarily about having something every night so much as it is that, when you find yourself in the mood for a certain type of movie/show like a comedy, you probably didn't know you'd be in that mood two days ago when you had a documentary about building dams in Patagonia sent to you.OC Zed said:I don't know why people are so anti-disc now... if there's a movie you want to see, just put it in your queue and it shows up in a day or two. If you have that much time on your hands that you need to watch a new movie/tv show every single night, then maybe you need to find more things to do in your life.
