Redskins coach Jim Zorn reiterated Friday that Clinton Portis (knee) will be a game-time decision in Week 12.While Portis has vowed to play all week, Zorn revealed that the tailback "really is not full-speed" and will be worked out before the game just like last week before his status is determined. Once again, Zorn is more confident in Ladell Betts' (knee) ability to play. Betts owners can wait for Portis, but those with healthier options in favorable early-game matchups can consider putting Portis on the bench. The Skins don't play Seattle until 4:15PM ET Sunday.
Guy played last week, and played pretty well.No way, in a must win game, am I not playing him vs SEA.

He's playing.
I'm playing him too, but I am mildly concerned still. It was only 76 yards and the Dallas D is not THAT good against the run.
From what I saw last week, he was running with great bursts and physical authority. While Dallas isn't that stellar against the run, they are better than SEA.Can't see how you sit Portis, especially given last week's misinformation about the injury.

He didn't look the least bit hurt to me last week.

I don't doubt he has an injury of some kind but I think a lot of this is BS. After what we saw last week the only way I'd sit him if I had him is if he was ruled Out. Otherwise, I'd start him against anybody. He's an incredible RB.

I agree with you, Wrigley. It does seem a little odd the way this story has developed throughout the week. Early in the week it was that he would definitely play and now they make it sounds like he is STILL a gametime decision for week 12 (like that was the clear story on Monday, which it wasn't).

Wrigley ---> did you mean to have the "not" in the last sentence of your first post?

I am totally with you, and this seems to be the same thing the Colts did with Reggie Wayne a couple weeks back. They both clearly got hurt in nationally televised games, were examined on the sidelines, came back in and finished out the game. Their teams are in the thick of the hunt, in a huge pack of mid-level teams hunting for 2 wildcard spots. The player was/is banged up, so they are going to get a couple days off to rest up anyway, why not list them as questionable and a gametime decision? If they are missing practice, they have earned a questionable tag, even if the coach knows they will actually play. It would almost be dumb not to classify them as questionable.

The only question I have is if Betts hadn't hurt his knee in week 11's game, how many carries would he and Portis have gotten? Would it have been more of a 50/50 split? If so, and Betts is healthy this week, will we see that 50/50 split this week?

Now seeing as there are 8 teams between 5-5 and 7-3 competing for 2 wildcard spots in the NFC, Zorn needs to play his best players and can't take too much for granted. But I have to say I would be tempted to give Betts half the carries this week if that was at all possible, just to ease Portis's load a little bit for the stretch run. If you were Zorn, wouldn't you?

Kinda leaning toward playing Portis, but have Turner in right now along with Gore...between Gore, Portis and Turner, who do you sit?

He only had 15 carries. He looked good to me last week. Had they managed to get a quick stop on Dallas' last possession, Portis could have reached 100 yards from scrimmage last week. Dallas held the ball for the final 6:40 of the game, limiting Portis' touches.

I would probably keep Turner in, just for the comfort level knowing that he's playing...set your lineup and rest easy. I have those 3 same RBs, plus Dunn...But I can start 3 RBs. Because of Dunn's matchup vs Detroit, I might think about starting Dunn and sitting Portis. Crazy, I know. But for the same reason I suggested starting Turner, I may want to start Dunn knowing he's for sure playing and he's all they have left in Tampa.

That my friend is possibly the best problem I've ever heard on somebody having. Dynasty league?Gore is in for sure, then it's between Portis and Turner. Deciding factor is if you think Portis is actually injured. Last week I'd say he was limited a little bit, not in his cutting but in his tackle breaking. I'm banking on another week of rest (not practicing) will get him pretty close to 100% so I'm starting him this week over Johnson. Not a tough decision for me, but I'd be more indecisive with your players.

A few weeks ago the NFC East RB's were king. If you start a couple of Westbrook, Jacobs, Portis, or MB3 you were sittin pretty good. Now between injuries and their schedule none seem quite as safe in many cases for top ranked teams. You can't start Betts over Portis if he plays for example but this could easily burn you down the stretch.
