Anyone else targeting LJ this week? (1 Viewer)

The LJ owner in our league is asking for a top 5 back in return. Needless to say he's going down with the ship...

I Gave up P. Crayton to get LJ...........HAHAHA! Wonder if I won that one.
Me too. The jury is definitely out.Course that's nothing like the :bag: trade ideas like FWP or MB3 for LJ. wtf - some of these trade ideas/offers are unreal. LJ has totally and unbelievably sucked all but one game and has yet to score a single TD. That isn't all a "tough schedule." He is sucking, his team is sucking.........I'd trade him for a pretzel but nobody's biting. lol @ "top 5 back from here on out." He/his team is so pathetic I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he has yet another pathetic game.
Another food for though on LJ...327-275 = 52....that is the how many fewer yards LJ has this year compared to last year after 5 games... Combined with the fact that he knows he's a notoriously slow starter means get him any way you can.
How's the TD comparison looking?
Is this fishing?

RB on my roster:Steven Jackson, Ahman Green, Cedric Benson, Kevin Jones, Brian LeonardI have suffered long enough with injuries so I traded Holt straight up for LJ today.A few hours later, traded Cedric Benson for Reggie WayneIn essence:I lost Holt and gained WayneI lost Benson and gained LJHoping for the best from here on out.......
Nice moves. You upgraded at two positions there.

A few weeks ago I traded Lamont Jordan, Eli, and Burress for LJ, Hasselbeck, and Javon Walker. The only trade I regret at this point is the Burress for Walker. I really think LJ is going to break out but luckly I have Addai and B. Jacobs just in case he doesn't. Since Addai is on a bye this week it's either LJ or Sammy Morris........I'm going with LJ.

I was going to try but since Henry got on the hooch and I'm not willing to give up on Parker yet I didn't have anything to offer. The plan from day one was to trade Henry for him and it probably would've worked I just waited one week too long.

I just traded away portis to get lj.
No offense, and I definitely could be wrong but I would take Portis in a heartbeat.
I did the same trade two weeks ago. LJ plays the Lions in week 16....Portis plays the Vikings.Clear enough to me.
Playoffs in all my leagues start in week 14... I will worry about week 16 when/if I get there.Wk 14 Portis is at home vs. Chicago, a much juicier matchup then most anticipated.Wk 15 Sunday night game of the week vs. the giants... Great matchup.Wk 16 Vikings... tough matchupWk 14 LJ plays in Denver, not a great matchupWk 15 At home vs. Tenn, one of the better d-lines in the league.Wk 16 Great matchup but will the Chiefs have anything to play for, hard to see them running LJ into the ground???Sorry I still like Portis...

Denver is the worst team in the league against the run. And yes KC will run LJ into the ground.Don't get me wrong, I hope I made the right trade. But Portis got dinged up last week. Both his hand and his knee. I'm not sure he's going to make it through the season and if he does, he'll be playing a Chicago team possibly fighting for the playoffs, a Giants team fighting for the playoffs and possibly the best team against the run the last 2 years.

I offered Clinton Portis and Matt Schaub for LJ and Vince Young (hoping just to get LJ, honestly).

The owner sent me back:

LJ and Steve Smith

for

Matt Schaub and Plaxico Burress

Needless to say, I accepted. Schaub was a waiver wire pickup/backup for me.

So I basically got Smith and LJ for Plax.

Aren't TD's the hardest part to predict for any player? I mean FWP has 1 TD and has played a cake schedule so far, but there is only marginal worry for him, if any. Fact is LJ is "the back" on a run first team. He's been uber productive behind a solid line. Now he's behind a marginal line, but the worst part of is schedule is over, the rust should be completely off from the hold out and Bowe is turning into a viable WR option. Plus he hasn't been run into the ground after logging crazy carries last year. Looks like a nice buy low opp to me.

12 team 0.5 PPR league, start 1 qB/2 RB/3 WR/1 TE/no flex/K/Def

I traded away Fitz for LJ, straight up. That left me thin at WR, so then I traded Portis and Curry away for Roy Williams and Earnest Graham. The second part might not interest you, but it was an important concern for me roster-wise.

Before, I was starting Bush/Portis/Steve Smith/Fitz/Colston

Now, after all bye weeks are taken care of, max lineup will be....

Bush/LJ/Steve Smith/Roy/Colston

Sure, it's a risk, but I didn't have Betts, and I think overall my lineup is better.

The LJ owners in almost all my leagues still want near draft day value for LJ. I've had my offers rejected or countered with offers like Rudi and TO, Lynch and MJD, TO and Gates to name a few. I'll pass at those prices.

Same here. Guess I'll move on. :goodposting:

I've been targeting LJ, but rejected these yesterday. If I had a solid/dependabe RB2 (would be Ahman after trade), I'd be more inclined. LJ could boom or (continue to) bust.

Give - Portis, TO

Get - LJ, Bowe

Give - Portis, Plax

Get - LJ, Marvin

14 team league, starting 3 WRs - so there's nothing on the WW. I might regret passing on the 2nd deal if LJ gets going and Harrison returns to form, but I don't feel like the gamble on both is worth it - giving up 2 producing players for the chance.

I wouldn't take the 1st, but Id have taken the 2nd in a heartbeat.

I just sent fast willie parker and crayton and got LB and c johnson.

parker seems to be losing the goal line carries and LJ has a good schedule - and I think the upside of c. Johnson is higher than Crayton.

I just traded Ronnie Brown and Steve Smith for LJ and Roy Williams.

If nothing else, at least I get two guys with stable QB's and bail on two guys with big questions at QB. Stability is huge and, at 5-0, LJ's sked looks better come playoff time.

I am thinking about trading LJ. I am sitting at 2-3 in BML. My starting roster is as follows:

QB: Eli

WR: TO, Fitz

RB: A. Peterson (min), LJ

RB/WR: D. Mason

TE: Daniels

K: Folk

D: Pitt

10 pts ru/rec, with ppc

I am being offered:

Portis/T. Holt

for

LJ/Berrian

I love this trade, but portis and holt are dinged up right now. I have a hard time parting with LJ, but i have had him for the last 2 years and his current situation is unfamiliar to any perrenial LJ owner. I don't think anyone can convince me one way or the other, can any of you?

I offered a good deal to get LJ last week, including Portis.

I would not accept that same offer this week, if offered. We have changed from "buy low" to "wait and see if this is such a lost season and a lost player as to not represent any considerable value".

:useless:
I'm glad you find this funny... Chicago's def is depleted, even Green Bay was having success on the ground against them, injuries are taking a huge toll... and the players they have lost are not coming back...

Denver has talent on defense and although they have been poor lately, things change fast in the NFL, dont expect them to be abysmal all year... Also, thin air and very weak KC line won't help...

Tennessee has been absolutely stuffing the run and is looking like a top ten defense this year, what's funny?

They just gave LJ big money, if the Chiefs are out of it by week 16 it is foreseeable that they may take it easy on him, but I dont see many people who are counting on LJ getting to the Championship game anyway...

Check back after Portis finishes ahead him for the season for me, ok?

I think this is correct ... it seems LJ owners are optimistic and willing to wait on the Cincy game to boost LJ's value. Deals that may have worked last week are now "borderline" as the LJ owners are comfortable to wait it out for one more game.If LJ has a great game, I'd imagine the price shoots up dramatically. Another poor game, and the price will drop a little more ... but then, who's going to be buying if he can't get it going against Cincy's depleted defense? I guess there will always be a price ... it's a fluid market though ...

I'd take Portis for LJ, if I didn't already own both LJ & Portis. I bet you'll get a bite.I think LJ should tear up Cincy, but I am losing faith by the day. What if Cincy goes up 14-0 early? KC has been abondoning the run early & this game could look just like last week.
 This is where I go back and forth. On one hand, I'd trade for LJ because of the soft schedule on paper. On the other hand, I don't have faith in KCs line or QB play right now to ensure that the ground game won't be abandoned.
I just got LJ today, but i may have paid high for him. I gave up Marvin Harrison and Sammy Morris. I got Harrison over the course of several trades which originated as my 5th round pick and sammy was a waiver pick.My team is in my sig, just add LJ, i think i'm set for a championship
I think you're letting everyone down by not updating your sig to reflect LJ on your team. People's fantasy teams in their sigs are the backbone of the Shark Pool. And while I know it's impossible to resist touting to the world that you play in a $1200 league, I must say you are remiss by not including the full scoring system for your league.
