Anyone else thinking about sitting Steve Smith this week (1 Viewer)

He scares the crap out of me right now. If Weinke plays he probably gets overshadowed by Carter and if Delhomme plays they may only throw it ti him five times. This one's killing me!!

I've got to pick three out of CJ, Evans, Colston, Henderson & Smith and I may just go CJ & the Saints. Who'd a thunk it preseason.

i'll admit, it's crossed my mind. not to turn this into a WDIS thread, but i start 3 WRs (one is a flex), and i've already got TJ Housh and Colston, with Terry Glenn and DHenderson on the bench. so, i've got options. but i've gotten this far fielding Housh, Colston/Henderson, Smitty... so i think it'd be silly to stop now. the guy's been a rock all season. plus, Car coaches have had a week to pound into Weinke's head "get Smitty the damn ball."

i think you got to start him. he's been the #1 WR since coming back healthy.

Oops sorry just read the rest of your post. Didn't Weinke throw for around 400 yds last week? The Panthers will air it out regardless of who is at qb and the Steelers secondary hasn't exactly been stellar this season. I think you are overanalyzing things and panicking based on Smith's numbers from last week. He got you to where you are and I think you need to ride him out.

Weinke threw for a ton but Smith got jack out of it...that's the problem. Haven't looked yet but how's Pitt's secondary injury-wise right now?

Before you overreact, check the targets. Smith had 13 targets this past week, many of which were just a bit behind him. The timing wasn't there. I would think that Weinke will be on the same page with Smitty this week, and if Delhomme goes he knows where to put it.

I benched Holt last week (vs. Chicago) in favor of flavor of the week C. Houston. That move cost me. I lost in the first round of the playoffs.

As they say, never sit your studs.
