Anyone ever expand there league from 12 teams to 14 teams? (1 Viewer)

What's the big deal :goodposting: Not like it's a keeper or Dynasty. Just get the commish to select 14 franchises instead of 12
exactly.my redraft league has gone 12, 14, 15, and 16Not a big deal. You just end up going deeper into the talent pool. You wont have the awesome lineups of the 4 team leagues, but w/e.

The more the better IMO in any league. The more owners you have, the better the competition.
This is my experience too. The league has become very competitive, with most of the teams in the playoff hunt with a couple weeks to go. We removed a starting RB and added a superflex (QB/RB/WR or TE). This has shaken things up a lot, before if you didnt get two good backs you were done from the start. Now, WR is the most in demand position. I dont see any reason to dump TE's, after the first few they all score about the same. It adds some strategy to the draft, deciding whether or not to take gates, et al.

Avoid the Christmas rush and just expand to 16 now. I love 16 team formats. Competition is better all around.

Not much differance between TE 12 and 14. Now QB can get interestng. Keep your setup. 12 to 14 will make it better. 1 bench per position type 14 team is my favorite.

Not sure how you determine your draft order, but give the "expansion" teams the #1 and #2 overall picks in the draft. Flip a coin to determine who is first.

My oldest redraft league started at 10 teams and has fluctuated from 12 to 16 teams ever since its first expansion. It's a pure redraft league with simple scoring (no PPR; no IDP's) so it's pretty seamless.

One of the best things about a 14 team league is in a 13 game regular season, you play each team once. Therefore there is no reason for divisions... allowing the best teams to make the playoffs.

Plus having to finish in the top 6 of 14 means making the playoffs is a significant accomplishment.
