Anyone ever make playoffs from 0-4? (1 Viewer)

Nope, it's never been done in the history of fantasy football.

A pernnial doormat who started 0-4 won my league a few years ago.

I saw a team start 0-5 and do it, but that is the exception.
The problem with starting 0-4 is that, unless your team is in a weak division, a general rule of thumb is that to make the playoffs you need a winning record (not always true, but mostly so in my experience for non-division winners to qualify for a wildcard slot). To reach the 7-6 mark with an 0-4 start means that of the remaining 9 games, you would have to go 7-2 (which is pretty tough to do).
No reason to give up, but the odds are against you will need to catch all the breaks from this point on.

Impossible.. i was 0-4 in 2009 after a bad draft..
I did end up assembling a balanced contender via waivers toward the middle, but still couldn't overcome the bad start.
It was just painful to come up short week after week...
It was my most important league (as it was with coworkers) and it was just painful to come into the office being the weekly doormat in the league.
I really hated that season, all that time wasted.. just better to shut off the laptop and just open a beer and enjoy football..

Guy in my 16 team league started 0-6, went 7-6 to make the playoffs, won it that year and the next.

Yes. Never give up. Keep scouring the waiver wire.
Did the same a few years back. Started 0-6 and ripped off 11 straight to win it all. Fun year.

Yeah, was 2-5 last year and ended up winning the league despite having Kitna as my QB. I just throw that in there to say that "you just never know". Keep plugging. Good luck.

I saw this and just wanted to chime in and add that I started 0-6 last year in a 12 team league with just horrific player production. By the end of the season, I had a waiver wire all-star team made up of guys like Vick and Tamme and the castoffs from other teams. I was basically like the Packers of the fantasy world...except my quest for a title fell one game short, in the championship.Final record: 7-6-1. You can do it, just keep your head (and sanity) up.

I've made the playoffs and won the championship starting 0-5. WW pickups, luck, and players finally performing as the should all play into turning it around. Sometimes it doesn't matter how great your team is if bad luck is knocking on your door. You could lead your league in points, but still be 0-4.

In the case of the 0-5 team I mentioned, they were the favorite to win the championship going into the season - however in the first five weeks the team always faced the highest scoring team in the league, plus their players had slightly underperformed. After that they caught some scheduling breaks and won 7 consecutive games.I think in most instances, WW pickups have a lot to do with a team's resurgence. IMO if you have a slow start, you have to be proactive by either agressively working the WW or making some trades.

I did it once but I got in based off of total points, not record. Got a string of bad luck early in the year where I went 0-4 but was like the 3rd or 4th high scorer in total points. Went on to win the final playoff spot based on high points for remaining teams not in off record. I think I was .500 that year at seasons end. Lost in playoffs.

I did it in 2000. 12 team H2H league, top 8 make playoffs. Picked up Mike Anderson in Week 3, then was at 1-5 when I traded for Jeff Garcia and ended up winning the rest of my games through the Super Bowl.

In 2008 I started off 0-5 and then won my last 8 games to end the season. Sadly, I ended up losing a tie-breaker for the last playoff spot.

Funny, I just posted this on our league message board prior to last week's games (as we had two teams that started 0-2)... in the history of our league (19+ years), nobody has ever started 0-3 and go on to win anything. A few 0-2's have turned into champions, but 0-3 (historically) has been a death sentence.
Not that it matters but those two teams are now 2-2 and 0-4... one alive, one dead.

Yep, I actually started 0-5 7 years ago (horrible scheduling luck, but a solid team). I won out & won the championship. 3 years ago I started 0-4, made the playoffs & lost in the championship game. Not a suggested way of starting, but yeah, never give up. You owe it to the rest of your league to not be a push-over too.
Went 7-3 to finish the season this year, including victories the last three weeks, to sneak into the 6th and final playoff spot (6 out of 12) at 7-7.
