Anyone got the cajones to go with Charlie Frye this week? (1 Viewer)

is this the week to start any and all Browns?

you guys think the Oakland defense will bounce back after the bye or has this team already packed it up for the season?

I drafted him for this week. I had Plummer originally who is on a bye this week. However I have since aquired McNabb, so I have no need of him now.

Definitely curious about this myself. Going into the season, my only QBs were Warner and Lienart. I don't like either vs. Atlanta, so I am going to try and grab either Farve or Frye off waivers and start one or the other.

I have Eli Manning off.. and Grossman plays Seattle.. I picked up Frye because I rather go with him and this matchup... You saw what Seattle did to Eli... I think they will shut down the bears...

confused1.gifIn two games, the Raiders have allowed a total of 251 passing yards and two TDs. How is that a nice matchup?
First, I think you'll admit that a two-game data sample isn't all that particularly relevant. Second, both teams that faced the Raiders this season are predominately rushing teams with stout defenses. Neither team needed to throw the ball in order to win against the Raiders. Cleveland has no running game, and they're defense is marginal at best. I would expect decent passing stats from Fyre out of sheer necessity.

I wouldn't be so quick to call a matchup against the Raiders D as a nice match up.

1) The Raiders D is far from bad, they're the reason they were actually in the game against Baltimore. From watching them they play hard and have tons of speed.

2) The Browns aren't much better than the Raiders. This means that both teams will be in the game the entire time and will most likely have a balanced attack.

3) The Browns are better than the Raiders, so I expect them to take the lead and keep the clock running as much as possible.

Thinking about starting him over Brady. Am i crazy? :loco:
Frye has been surprisingly solid this year. He's got a couple top talent weapons in Winslow and Braylon, a nice set of wheels, a floundering run game, a defense will give up some points, and he's looking pretty poised (sans the bad int at the end of the Balt game). As a bye week filler I wouldn't feel that bad starting him at all...and against Oakland, who let's face it, they're awful, they haven't given up a lot of passing stats because teams have been blowing them out of the water and running the entire second half of games, I could see him notching two or three scores and respectable yardage.

I would be careful about this.

I am a Bronco fan, so just so it is clear I hate the Raiders, but Shell has had 2 weeks to hear all the bad things about his team.

This team is going to come out on a mission. I can't guarantee their offense will do much, but that defense is going to go out and keep the score close.

I think if you don't have other better options or (like some have said) you need a bye week filler, maybe Frye is good, but I wouldn't bench a mid-range FF QB for him.

These are the types of games where FF owners out think themselves out of victories.

Im considering starting Edwards and Winslow over Bryant and Crumpler ....... it scares me to have to rely on two browns players. Im trying to build up the cajones to do it.

Yes. I dropped Ben Roethlisberger (who is clearly having problems) to pick up Frye when I saw CLE vs OAK. The Browns are scoring and Frye should put up better numbers than Grossman (vs SEA). In a 14 team redraft league, QB picks are woeful  However, I may still start Grossman.

My league requires 3 QBs on the roster at all times, and I have Warner, Frye, and Leinart. I wish I had access to Favre, but it looks like my choice will have to be the Frye guy.

That's because everyone runs all over them. Well, Cleveland doesn't exactly have a stellar O-line or anything resembling a rushing attack right now. They will go to the air. I would start the guy but McNabb is my other QB and I can't start anyone over McNabb right now. Particularly with McNabb against the Packers at home. I will say this. Frye is the real deal. Acquire Edwards and Winslow as fast as you can.....

He speaks the truth. He just acquired B. Edwards.

Debating between Frye and Brees. Frye has had a rushing TD in each game which is why his fantasy points have been high, but will that really continue??? With Droughns still a little banged up I don't see the Browns having any type of real running attack, so I think the Browns will have to win this through the air.
