Anyone had surgery on ruptured flexor tendon in finger? Experiences? (1 Viewer)

Cut my right middle finger on some glass and ended up cutting the tendon. Have to have surgery this Wednesday.

Sucks because I am right-handed and recovery time is 8-12 weeks, during most of which my hand will be mostly immobile and I can't flip people off as much as I like to. Hopefully I will at least have the index finger free.

Sounds like I won't be able to drive for about 4-6 weeks.

Anyone go through this? Good, bad, ugly?

It's basically like having a ping pong paddle strapped to your hand...

All the basic functions you do without thinking right handed will drive you to the brink of insanity left handed... peeing, "wiping", brushing, shaving all require focus and thought...

On the plus side, in 3 months, you are ambidextrous
