Anyone here ever a manager for Aldi? (1 Viewer)

Was just shopping and noticed they are having a job fair early next month. I’m considering going in for shift manager. $17 an hour, full benefits after 90 days and the location is less than 5 minutes from my apartment. I have management experience which is preferred and a clean background and I can pass a drug screening. I do about 80% of my food shopping there and I assume I would also get a nice discount. I’ve been to the store at least once a week in the last 15 months since I moved here so I’m familiar with the products and what not.

Whats it like?

If you get the gig I'm gonna be there to complain. Those losers advertise all this great organic and high quality food. Then you walk in and it's like Big Lots. Went there twice just to confirm it was that bad. It was.

They have a great selection of organic products. If anything is not listed as organic just check the back label. If it’s manufactured in Europe it’s organic because GMOs are illegal there.

Non GMO <> organic

Please try to know what you speak about. Preferably before speaking/writing

If it’s non GMO it’s not loaded with Monsanto pesticides and just the same as organic. Do try to not make a fool of yourself trying to make a fool of others.

Forget the obvious GMO/organic stuff but in America we like the important info on the front of the package. Man I'm glad there's a Wegmans and Whole Foods nearby.

Idk

My wife likes the one by our house.

Ours is pretty good here but the one where we used to live was much less so.

It's one of our preferred grocery stores, along with sprouts (kind of like a better whole foods).

I have a Sprouts by where I live. Not a bad store.

My kingdom for a a good pickle out here in CA. They just don't have them.

That's surprising. I've only been near Barstow :X , but rumors have California as a decent state for produce.
Great state for produce, not NY delicatessen products. Or pickling, it seems. Just not big out here, I guess, unless you're in NorCal, maybe.  :shrugs:

Hint:  GMO is an acronym and none of those letters stand for Pesticide.  Pesticide starts with P

PEE.

We have Fresh Market, Giant, Wegmans, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Acme and Aldi within fifteen miles. I'd go to Aldi last.

They have limited stock but they are by far the best for cheeses and good affordable snacks. The beer and wine is very good as well.

Different than the one I go to. A lot of good stuff at mine

I'd have Trader Joes and Aldi at the top of my list of those. Aldi 5 minutes away. Fresh Market 15. Whole Foods and Trader Joes 30

I would've never went myself. It used to be just like Save A Lot. My wife started going there a few years ago and I'm like Wtf are you going to there? I'm not sure if they were bought out by someone else or what but they changed a lot of things.  It's still kinda ghetto having to get your own box type thing but it's cheap and actually not garbage. Aldi used to be the bottom of the barrel crap.

I don’t think they were ever like that but many people associate low prices with crap. I’ve never gotten anything there that I didn’t like or think was less than above average quality.
