Drops is a subjective stat and generally up for debate with someone watching the game...it's a tricky one

Targets Drops Percent Caught Percent First Down 152 14 55.9 40.8
that can't be right...14 drops????that has to be last year's stats....there is no way he has already dropped 14 passesI think it is more like 4-6 drops
I have seen him drop around 5 or 6 balls and I have only seen the Cowboys play a few games. The two in the Packers game were obvious and could have been crucial in a closer game.

here, sorry bout that. I gotta update my links apparently

Targets Drops Percent Caught Percent First Down

121 9 61.2 51.2

Yeah, I have him (so no axe to grind) and I've seen him drop several in just a couple of games. Hands of stone or just lousy concentration.

steve smith, roy williams, jason witten....

this list makes it look like drops are a good thing...alot of big names on there

Suprised Megatron is not in the top 15 for the NFC (those with 5 or more). Guess a drop bounces off both hands or between the numbers....

It's like Yardage:INTs. There is a correlation between those who pass for a gazillion yards and throw a ton of picks. Just more opportunities. Same with receivers...the more balls thrown your way, the chances are you're going to drop more of them.

But the "clank' award goes to D Henderson: 9 drops 19 catches through 13 games!

others:

A Gonzolez (Ind) 7 drops/ 28 catches

K Keith 6/11

D Jackson 7/33

Colbert 6/32

Dal Clark 9/50

Des Clark 6/41

Graham 7/42

S Moss 8/46

So Reggie Bush's 10/73 doesn't look so bad by comparison.

On the other side of the ledger, here are the "good hands people":

80 or more receptions and less than 5 drops:Welker, Mason, Fitz, Holt

This is true...i remember watching a cowboys game and kept in eye on TO cuz he's on my fantasy roster. He dropped one pass and 4 other targets were horrible throws from Romo that TO tried to catch but it was damn near impossible but it touched part of his hand. The announcers and TV showed that he had 5 drops in the game.

I think this will be the first year of Hass' career without at least one WR in the top 5. Usually Jackson's higher on the list because of more targets but it looks like he's trying to make up for it. Getting a 4th for Jackson was a steal.

Regardless, he has horrible hands.
Horrible? and I can't stand TO
Oh okay, so if you are a perennial leader in a (bad) statistical category amongst your peers, then you are "not bad". Got it. :shrug:He doesn't use his hands well at all (until he brings it in obviously). If he doesn't have to, he'll wait for it to come to his arms or body instead, and cradle it. There is a big difference between how he catches a ball and say, Rice, who was a joke. After the catch, however, one of the best ever, so saying he has horrible hands is not that big 'a deal really.
