Anyone know when the bye weeks are posted? (1 Viewer)

Just wondering if anyone knows when the bye weeks come out for those who like to plan accordingly? Feel free to debate the merits of drafting lots of players for the same bye weeks to minimize losses or avoiding duplication to get a best shot to go undefeated.

Ignore bye weeks, except when drafting subs/bench players.

Draft the best starting lineup possible, and worry about bye weeks later.

Depends on the type of league to which you're referring. Not very important in head to head leagues with a traditional playoff structure. Very important in survivor leagues. WCOFF is somewhere in between because of such a short regular season.

As I recall, the NFL leaks the bye weeks a day or two before the schedule is released. I expect that to happen early-mid April.

Thanks Raptors-appreciate the info. I can see the merit in both strategies.
In a traditional head-to-head league, it can be argued that there could be an advantage in PURPOSELY seeking to have many players with the same bye week. The theory is that the tradeoff of giving up one loss while your team is stronger every other week could enable you to come out ahead. I have not intentionally drafted that way, but understanding this concept allows me to not sweat it very much if I notice that many of my first 8-9 picks share the same bye week. I try to keep a season-long perspective at the draft and for the first few weeks of the season, then use free agents and trades if any one week looks problematic. If your league limits roster moves, then you need to be more careful as well.

I agree this might work out well if you don't have to sacrifice player worth to get those off weeks, which is exactly why I'm curious. Of course, free-agency will affect it.
