Anyone not like Eddie Lacy? (1 Viewer)

Rotoworld:

Coming off a 33-touch performance, Eddie Lacy said his body is feeling good.
Lacy has at least 24 touches and 97 total yards in four straight weeks. Not bad for someone deemed fat by Twitter back in August. "I thought I was going to be a lot sorer," he said Wednesday. "I was sore the day after. I was getting beat up out there. But it's the same healing process; we're still on schedule." The Packers have talked up using James Starks more in an effort to keep Lacy fresher, something fantasy owners should welcome. The rookie is still going to be the feature back and push for 20 touches weekly.

Eddie Lacy's carries will be cut by Green Bay PackersBy Kevin Patra

Green Bay Packers rookie running back Eddie Lacy has provided some early-season ground punch to the previous aerial-based assault.

Lacy has touched the ball 24 or more times the last four weeks, since retuning from a concussion injury, including 27 times (22 carries) in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns and 33 times (29 carries) last Sunday night versus the Minnesota Vikings.

The Packers love Lacy's production, but they would like to see his number of carries reduced in upcoming games.

"We had an extra day (to recover) this week with the Monday night game, that plays into it too," running backs coach Alex Van Pelt said, per the Green Bay Press Gazette. "But we're definitely monitoring the carries for him, try to get him back down to around 20."

The wear-and-tear on Lacy is something the Packers will want to keep an eye on. His running style alone creates a lot of punishment to his body. Add in the likelihood that he will play a big role on a playoff team poised to make a deep run, and Green Bay will want him fresh in January.

James Starks' increased production should help lighten Lacy's load. Starks provides a similar style as Lacy. Starks will provide a reprieve, but Lacy will remain the Packers' No. 1 option.

Looked very good again...even with Rodgers out.

But going forward has to be a little concern here if Rodgers misses time.

Also big that Lang ended up out with a concussion...putting Barclay at RG and Newhouse at RT.

Indeed, but we have to understand something. Ancient, 300-lb. Brandon Jacobs fell off of his couch and rumbled for 106 and 2 TDs against the Bears. When defensive coordinators have a full week to  at the prospect of defending a Seneca Wallace-led offense, it may be a different story.

Make no mistake, Rodgers being hurt is bad to very bad for all Packers, even big Lace. 7-8 in the box is a lot different than 5-6.

losing Rodgers hurts but we have to remember what he has done. last 3 weeks he has gone over 20 each game. I bet he leads fantasy RBs over the past month even. he will continue to get fed 20-25 times but if Rodgers is out for 6 weeks I wouldn't be surprised if he only got 1 or 2 TDs over that span while averaging 3.5-3.8 YPC

Zac Stacy disagrees with four of the last five posts.
Both have been beasting the last 5 weeks this is true.

Lacy's has elite written all over him. He has superb vision and is a load to take down. He also has above average speed for a man his size. He is fun to watch.

I agree with this - I expect him to be around 25 touches as long as the game is in reach but efficiency and scoring opps will likely go down IMO.

Man, he looked good last night though.

Stacy still got the carries today, but only managed 73 yards on those 24 carries.

Anyone worried about his production with green bays qb situation?

Less redzone carries is not great for him.

Knocks him down a peg or two, sure, but he's still far exceeding his ADP and should be back to previous form when Rodgers is back just in time for FF playoffs

Didn't watch the whole game, but my sense from the recaps is that it was less a direct effect of the QB play (Tolzien was OK) and more GB getting behind by so much. Of course, GB without Rodgers is probably going to be playing from behind more often, so indirectly, the QB situation could drag Lacy down a peg.

What is Lacys value in a redraft? You should expect a top 5, maybe top 3 WR in return, correct?
Depends on your league. In my league Lacy puts up 10 PPG (#10 RB) and the top 3 WRs put up about 13.4 so, no I would not give you one of them for Lacy.

The #11 WR in my league puts up about 10 PPG so that seems a little more realistic starting point. You may be able to talk your way up to the #5-6 WR if you make a solid sell.

Good points Chaka.

In mine he's at 13ppg(5-7rb) while AJ is 13.4(#2 WR). So it's close, IMO, I value RBs more.

Selling point is that the team asking can actually afford to lose one of Dez or AJ. (Jeffrey, Allen, MJones) but his RBs are bad. Plus he's chasing me, so he would have to pay up. :)

I doubt I even trade him, just wanted to see what you guys thought on his value. Thanks for the feedback guys.

QB less of a worry IMO...oline injuries and bad defense will hurt him more than Tolzien.
I don't think that's accurate. The QB play is atrocious, and they're just stacking the box. If Tolzien doesn't throw a terrible pick, Lacy's got eleven points already in normal scoring redraft, and then he's got a whole drive w/in a touchdown to pile on more points.

I know you're a homer, but forget the playoffs unless you get Rodgers back. These guys stink.

What wasn't accurate?

NY has a good defense right now...playing tough against the run.

But the injuries to EDS, Lang's concussion, and Barclay being out and now Newhouse playing...plus the defense sucking are much more of a concern to Lacy's numbers right now.

I was not talking about the team...winning...or playoffs. Just Lacy.

The defense is awful right now...playoffs...only fortunate that nobody is running away with the division right now. That is their chance...not a great one...but a game back, with already having beat the Lions.

They have to somehow beat the Vikings next week...then hope Rodgers is back for the Thanksgiving game somehow.

I have lots of other good options (Andre Brown, maybe Vereen, possibly Ray Rice back in the picture), but I still can't see sitting him against Minnesota. Still, if he doesn't take advantage of that match-up, and if Rodgers isn't back for the Thanksgiving Day game, I might have to think about sitting him @Detroit. Philly/NYG have demonstrated the past two weeks you can stack the box against him and Tolzien can't make you pay for it.
