This team is scary going forward having this guy in the back field with Rodgers.... What a steal he was for the Packers. Teams over thought drafting this guy in the NFL.

He has been a huge reason that Im in the title game in both leagues that I have him.

Especially this week making up for Calvin's game...and Graham's no show in the other..also Moreno's dud in both leagues.

Said it in the other thread...he is doing what some have said we needed to see from a Packers back. Someone to take over the role and look like the true "leader in the clubhouse" as far as being a lead back.

Have gone from thinking full blown RBBC...to thinking Lacy, barring injury, is a lock to be their bell cow.

Have seen people throwing around 1000/10...sounds like a nice starting point for a prediction. Not sure if MM will run enough to get him too much past 1000 yards...but that TD number seems about right in the 10-12 range.
Worked out similar to this. Over 1000 now with 8 TDs and that is with missing time with the concussion.

Happy that McCarthy has stuck with the run and espeically late in that Dallas game.

Franklin just never could hold on to getting that RB2 job with some fumbles then injury.

Starks came out from preseason on and ran hard to keep the #2 spot.

But Lacy has been that bell cow...seems to have progressed quite well from the "fat" picture and the work ethic concerns and it seems his toe is just fine too.

Packers very fortunate his stock fell so low.

I have Calvin and Graham in a league with Lacy as well. He and Murray lifted me to the title game this week...

For a guy like me who loves old-school caveman football, Lacy's TD against Dallas was a thing of beauty.

Two TEs and a full house backfield featuring two defensive tackles. You're talkin about something like 2,600 lbs. of beef blocking for Lacy, who is 230+ himself. That is unstoppable.

Week 15 Rookie ReportExcerpt:

Eddie Lacy (RB-GB)

The top running back on Draft Insider’s board before April’s draft, Lacy has been the top rookie runner at the NFL level so far this season. As the only first-year back over 1,000 yards through 15 weeks, Lacy has proven his skills as a runner weren’t just a product of a dominant offensive line at Alabama. A great combination of patience, burst and power has made Lacy effective even with opposing defenses focusing on stopping him with Aaron Rodgers out of the lineup.

Lacy had five runs of 10-plus yards against a Cowboys defense that hasn’t stopped anybody of late, finishing with 141 rushing yards on 21 carries. His 60-yard run on the first play of the third quarter gave Green Bay momentum after being down 26-3 at the half. Lacy showed enough speed through the hole to get beyond the second level but his lack of breakaway speed led to him being caught from behind before he reached the end zone. Lacy’s other big runs were similar as he waited for his blocks to develop before planting and exploding through the hole, running violently enough to carry tacklers while showing enough agility to make a second quick cut for a few extra yards.

Lacy did have a bad drop early on a 3rd-and-1 pass that could have picked up a first down and had a few big losses, which were more a product of his line allowing quick penetration that he couldn’t avoid in the backfield. He did get Matt Flynn knocked down once but that was the first time all season he allowed his quarterback to get hit as Lacy has played well in all facets, pass blocking included. As long as he can stay healthy at the NFL level with his hard-charging style, Lacy should give Green Bay the multi-faceted offense they’ve been lacking in recent seasons.

Agreed.

Excerpt from the linked article:

At Tuesday's news conference, Tomlin said it was "an easy decision for me" to select Le'Veon Bell over fellow running back Lacy at No. 48 overall in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Tomlin did allow that Lacy is "top-notch" but explained that the Steelers loved Bell's versatility as a three-down back with elite receiving skills.

What Tomlin did not acknowledge is that Lacy's surgically repaired toe was a factor. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported last April that the Steelers' front office "would not touch" Lacy because his big toe had been fused prior to his senior season at Alabama. Pittsburgh wasn't the only team concerned about the long-term effects of that surgery.

Lacy also faced questions about his work habits, conditioning and love for football.

Anyone who has watched him bulldoze opponents this season realizes the latter is a non-factor. He leads the league in rushing yards after contact, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

Lacy is seventh in the NFL with 1,028 rushing yards. He's just 77 shy of breaking John Brockington's 1971 Packers record for most by a rookie.

Bell is no slouch himself. He's already emerged as one of the most effective pass-catching running backs in the NFL. On the flip side, he's averaging just 3.3 yards per carry.

There's no reason to doubt Tomlin's preference for Bell, but it might very well have more to do with Lacy's medical file than the game film.

The man is a ### #### cement truck. I'd rather try to tackle an 87 Ford Tempo than step in front of Lacy. He's a savage.
