Anyone not starting Aaron Rogers? (1 Viewer)

I am considering not starting Aaron Rogers this week versus the stiff Titans defense. My backup is Marc Bulger and the Rams will play the Cardinals.

Anyone else consider benching Rogers?

I am benching Driver for much the same reason and if I had Rogers I would do the same.

I am starting Orton over him in multiple leagues. Perhaps not a good idea, but seems worth the risk with as much as the Bears have been throwing the ball and considering their competition.

I'm rolling with him because I have to - Delhomme on bye and Romo injured.

But I don't hate his chances. Manning was ok against TENN from a fantasy perspective last week, and you could argue that Rodgers is the best QB they've faced yet this year (garrard, palmer, schaub, frerotte, flacco, kc carousel, then manning). I'm really only impressed with the game against schaub. My biggest concern is that its in TENN. I think GB stays in the game until the end, and even if they don't that should translate to FP's.

Tennessee has a good Defense for sure and they should be respected, but come on.

Manning had 3 TD's last week against them [2 Passing and 1 Rushing]. Depending on league scoring rules he scored between 20 - 30 pts. Rodgers is outscoring Peyton by nearly 4 points a game and is in the Top 5 QB's.

Why would you sit him unless you have another QB in the Top 5?

Repeat after me, ALWAYS START YOUR STUDS!

Ok I am repeating. ALWAYS START YOUR STUDS!

oh and I am starting him because he has not let me down so far and my back up is favre.

Agreed...but keep in mind that Rodgers was NOT drafted as a stud QB. Most folks owning him will have at LEAST another top ten QB, and more then a few will have a top five.I've got two leagues where Rodgers is paired with Cutler, and a third with Schaub. As good as Rodgers has been, he's not exactly NOT a gimme over Cutler to begin with...and certainly not this week.

Also starting Bulger over Rodgers. Yes Manning scored some points last week vs Tenn but it was not easy. I can't see Rodgers having a huge game but Bulger vs the Cards should have a higher ceiling than Rodgers.

Going with Rodgers, my alternative is Schaub at Minnesota. Seems like the right move
Have these two options as well. I have Shaub in there right now, but am feeling very indecisive about it.
I have the same situation and am sticking with Schaub for now.

I have the other side of that game and, yeah, Warner starts over Rodgers for me.In the other league I own Rodgers, I briefly considered Ryan over him, but I'll go with Rodgers. The Titans have scary pass defense stats, so I wouldn't fault anyone sitting their QB not named Brees against them.

I see no reason not to start him ... Peyton didn't do to poorly against Tenn and Rogers has had 2 weeks to prepare .. Rogers is the 7th rated QB in the league with 98.8 QB Rating .... sometimes you gotta go with your players and not overthink things too much ..... ... besides Rivers is on bye

+1, and am not feeling indecisive. Pretty sure I will stick with Schaub this weekend.
I am a Vikings fan, and I would be starting Schaub over Rodgers if I had Schaub. I am starting Rodgers over Bulger, I'm thinking Rodgers will be airing it out all game...

Rodgers is Probable on the friday injury report, and both Dodds/Norton have him ranked well above Ryan this week. I'll stick with Rodgers after all. Guess I spent 10% of my free agent budget for nothing.

It's funny how many of us are contemplating the same alternative to Rodger:

Schaub, Warner, Bulger, or Ryan

going bulger over him in 2 leagues. I see that game to be a shootout! Also benching jennings in 1 league for eddie royal. Tenn D is on a rampage...onaonaonaonarampage!

Starting Favre at QB. Considered Rodgers for my flex spot, but will probably go with Pittman or Faulk. I don't think Rodgers will do more than 200/1/1.

Might even grab Matt Ryan off the WW.

It sounds like many who are not going with Rodgers are starting decent options, I don't see anything too desperate.

This is exactly why taking a QB late like Rodgers is nice because you more than likely have drafted another options like an eli manning, a rivers or a Farve, campbell etc....

I of course don't really. I have M. Hasselebeck and Garcia so I'm rolling with Rodgers since I have week 1 anyway.

I'm excited to see his arm now after the bye, he needed that week off.

Look up how he did against Indy, TB, and Minn....I will save you the trouble..under 200 passing yards in all 3..Rodgers is not a stud in my book

Sitting for Pennington. Last time I did this it backfired on me and was the reason I lost my game (started Campbell and he got 8 points while Rodgers got 20+; lost by 8). Hopefully this week can make up for it.

I wouldn't be scared of starting Rodgers if I was lacking in options, but Orton is playing great and the Lions make starting him irresistible for me. In the 5 weeks prior to their byes, Orton actually outscored Rodgers (by 2 pts) in my league.

you guys with borderline top 10 qb's anyway I understand....but some of us have a REAL tough decision ....mine is Gus Frerotte vs. Houston or Rodgers.... Minnesotta offense has been doing better under Frerotte so I am seriously considering it....still undecided though. :goodposting:

I'd love to start him with Jennings but going with Schaub and Cutler. Back from his bye and against Tenn D :football: . If I didn't have these 2 options I would for sure start him. If you got him and no other better options I'd start him with confidence.

Im in the Schaub/Rodgers boat. I'm all on the fence with the decision, I have Schaub plugged in right now but have been switching them constantly. I figure this...

Ryan Grant is going to have a terrible day against that Tenn defense, so Rodgers will be airing the ball out. He'll have the chance to generate some points.

Schaub on the other hand is playing lights out and Andre Johnson as well also in the same scenario. I don't see Slaton being able to find much room against Minn. The only difference here is Minn pass D isn't as brutal as Tennessee's.

I am contemplating the same thing.

I am not starting Rogers but i haven't been starting him much all year. I have 3 Stud QB's that I picked up in rounds 8, 11, and 13. With Rogers, Cutler and Garrard. I have been playing Cutler most of the year. I wish I could trade one of them away but I guess if no one wants one of these QB's then I guess I will keep them from scoring for my competitors.

I have Rodgers in 2 leagues, sitting him in favor of Cutler in one (as I have done all season) and starting him instead of Campbell in the other. I contemplated Campbell, but PIT D is #1 against the pass, I have confidence that Rodgers can put up a good game.

Substitute Rivers for Cutler and I'm there. And in the same place on wishing I could get something, but happy that they're not scoring for others.
