I understand the logic here.... to reward QBs like Manning or Roethlisberger who, even when they aren't throwing TDs, have triple digit QB Ratings, and it would cancel out (somewhat) guys like Bulger who just throw INTs all day... I wouldn't do it unless you could use it in a way that you can't.
If you could use it as a multiplier (X + 17.5)times score = FP.... I'd do it.
A good QB Rating is like 82.5 or so IMO... so anything above that should gain points, and anything below loses.
Of course, using this, those Rediculous 300/5 games with 150 QB ratings turn from 40 into 60 point performances....
Just a thought.
I'd say no.
Personally, I'd be OK with a 300/5 game producing 60+ points. It's performances like this... 9-11-218 with 2 TDs that also get 60+ points that would annoy me. (That line is from Week 1 in 2005 with Ben Roethlisberger doing the honors. This approach also could cost a team 20 or so points for a last-second Hail Mary throw that ends up being intercepted.
For this to work, everyone in your league needs to truly understand the ramifications of this scoring system. That is, 4 TD and 4 INTs are not necessarily as good as 1 TD with 0 INTs, etc. Otherwise, there will likely be some turmoil coming from teams that cannot understand why their QB did so poorly or their opponents' QB did so well.
My suggestion would be that you might consider the QB rating as an additional or bonus category. Something like QB rating 90-100 = 1 pt, 100-110 = 2 pts, etc.
