Anyone think Pierre Thomas benefits from Bush's absence? (1 Viewer)

..or is it the usual Sants-running back crapshoot?

His inconsistency (or Payton's inconsistency at using him) has lead me to start others over him lately, but I'm thinking he might get some of the receptions that Bush normally gets.

Any thoughts, especially from Saints homers, on whether this may be one his big weeks?

PT owner here startinghim with confidence this week.

110 yds total/2tds.

Bell gets some extra carries from the loss of Bush.

PT will kill St. L.

Reggie Bush-RB- Saints Nov. 22 - 11:40 am et

Saints declared RB Reggie Bush, WR Lance Moore, CB Chris McAlister, DT Sedrick Ellis, CBs Jabari Greer and Tracy Porter, K Garrett Hartley, and LB Jonathan Casillas inactive for Week 11.

Bush didn't make the flight to Tampa Bay. Pierre Thomas is a strong bet for 18-20 touches and 100+ rushing yards in this favorable matchup. Robert Meachem also gets a slight value bump with Moore (high ankle sprain) still out.

It has to help him. I think Bell sees short yardage and will get a couple of series. But other than that, Piere's involvement with both the passing and running game will increase. Minimum of 15 touches, probably 20. Bell will be in the 5-10 range, unless he goes in and is completely unstoppable. Then they might ride him some more.

I'm all for this as long as PT is prepared to travel back in time to make it happen
Good catch - seeing if everyone was awake here. :lmao: Seriously, PT should run all over TB. Brees will make it look easy and that will free up the running game for PT.

He should get 100 yds. Hoping for 2tds, but would take 1td.

I don't think Bush's absence has any bearing on Thomas's performance today. It will be the same output you are use to regardless. Will he have a good game? Perhaps, it depends on if Bree's want's to have a good game also.

here's hoping bush's absence helps bell
This is what I think. Bush's absence helps Bell the most. Look for Bell to get most of the goal line looks. Thomas' numbers may not be what a lot of folks are expecting. I still think Thomas will have over 100 yds, but I'm not confident he will find the endzone.

Id love to start him this week but its between him and Frank Gore.
Same problem here, but FWIW am rolling with PT.For PT, the downside is the split with Bell, and his inconsistency as of late.Gore has been stellar, but actually has a relatively tougher matchup against a sound GB defensive front 4.Will take the juicy matchup Pierre has, and risk Bell siphoning carries as NO gets out in front comfortably, and plays ball control the second half, giving P Tmore touches despite the split.

that was my thinking LAST week vs the lowly rams...didnt work out that way

Didn't see the game.

Did PT get hurt? Seemed he was stuck at 92 yds.

Bell obviously getting the scores hurts. Guessing he was the goal line option?

Thomas is the Barry Sanders and Bell is the Cory Sleshinger.

I own Bell, but they were up 24-7 late in the 3rd when he got his TDs. Still not confident going forward that he's the GL back. But let's hope so.

Also hoping PT gets a rest the last two weeks of the season.
