Anyone up for a Songs about Food Draft? (1 Viewer)

Round 9  -  Hot Bottom Feeder   -   Clutch   (Appetizer)

The lyrics are the Maryland band's recipe for crab cakes.
  Never heard this before. My final meal request.

Their recipe is pretty simple - it's basically the same as what's on a can of Old Bay. Which is good; too many people try to do too much and screw it up.

This one is going to team up with Milkshake and maybe a couple others to give my mix a bit more variety beyond my standard rock favourites. I loooooooove this song, has stayed in constant for me rotation since it came out a couple years.

7.13 - Passionfruit - Drake - Fruit

Round 11 (entree): “Cowgirl In The Sand” - Neil Young & Crazy Horse

Double meat with cow and horse. Tried  horse while in Kazakhstan a few years ago - not bad actually.

Round 11  -  T.U.S.A.  -  Masters of Reality  (Beverage)

Ginger Baker isn't pleased with the state of tea in this country.

They bring you a cup with a lemon slice
And an unopened tea bag beside it (how nice)
And a pot of water and it may be hot
But boiling it isn't so tea you have not

So true.

My next selection is dedicated to my friend @wikkidpissah, who spent important life years in this town.

Round 11 - breakfast - Neil Young - Albuquerque

Well, they say
that Santa Fe
Is less than ninety miles away,
And I got time to roll a number
and rent a car.
Oh, Albuquerque.

I've been flyin'
down the road,
And I've been starvin' to be alone,
And independent from the scene
that I've known.
Albuquerque.

So I'll stop when I can,
Find some fried eggs
and country ham.

I'll find somewhere where
they don't care who I am.
Oh, Albuquerque,
Albuquerque.

Well, that's very sweet, as well as very timely because tonite is the season finale of Better Call Saul, which is the show that gives me, stuck here in my frozen tomb,  my sustaining doses of the great light & stoopit charms of Albq. Never heard this before - way qool. thx -

And, even tho its quite apparent Mr Young has never spent real time in my ol home town, the line i've quoted describes the vibe of it just about perfectly. No scene. Never a scene. Your scene. Nuf scene. Allllllllllllllllllbuquerque

I spent some time there for work a few years ago and was quite charmed by ABQ, in an odd way.

Forgot about the BCS/ABQ connection (I don't know how) but am so excited for the finale.  The last two episodes have been mint.

My best friend from our 20s and 30s has lived in Albuquerque for about fifteen years.  He kicked heroin, settled down and built a new life there.  My son is stationed a few hours south in Alamogordo so it's nice for him to drive up for the weekend and get a good meal and some semi-family time.

NM was a planned destination this fall but travel seems so uncertain.

Albuquerque's an accidental town. The only reason it exists is because of tuberculosis hospitals and being where a weak radiator used to give out driving Rte 66. My arrival there in '79 was accidental. I got tired of a commune in the mountains and there was no work in either of my two fields - radio, mental health - in Santa Fe. It was the biggest brown town in America then (waaaay overtaken by Anglos now) and i purely loved earning my way into another culture, with the abuelitas giggling over tricking my low Irish tolerance of chiles and jefes taking me hunting snakes and helping the poor.

And then there's visible horizons. Look east and the great shoulders of the Sandia Mountains make you feel small. Look west to sunsets that make you feel eternal. Average em out and life is your size, and you realize that humility is the best kind of excellence. All that's left then is to be. Love it, miss it.

Drink:

Pain killer- iceage

On the Virgin Island of Jost van Dyke there's a dinghy up bar on the beach called the soggy dollar, known for their signature cocktail, the painkiller. And hangovers

Anyplace other than my tiny backyard sounds lovely right now

Yeah, sure. Wild card. I think we get three. That would be the second. Thanks, man.
The spreadsheet has 3 wildcards for you currently - if something is wrong or you just want to change, just let me know and I'll change it.
