Anyone who uses cbs sportsline... (1 Viewer)

My other problem is I have a blackberry, and it doesn't seem like I can get Sportsline on it for some reason. Any tips on solving this?

I have The T mobile Sidekick. My wife actually bought it for me so that I can leave the house on Sundays and not miss the action. When I was on ESPN and EA Sports I was able to change my lineup and see the live scores. With CBS, I can not do that. I can change my lineup which is ultimately the most important thing but I can not see the live scores. It might be something that is embedded in the sportsline code. The funny thing is that it works perfectly for my baseball league. I too was interested about the FF companion but when I sent that Text message, it told me it was not available yet and to try back next week

I had it last year, I thought it was great. I was able to change my lineup at the last minute and do add/drops if there was a late call on a player. I have a Verizon phone and I think it cost $9.99 last year. You have live scoring, roster changes, add/drops, player news. Just about everything but message board and trading. I think it is definately worth the $10.

thank you for posting.Do you have an unlimited data plan? Was the $10 including the data? I wonder how much data it takes to get live scores and stuff.

That website says my phone (LG800, verizon) is not compatible but I downloaded it friday and it seems to work ok.

Has anyone used a Pocket PC with a wifi connection to access sportsline without this fantasy football companion?

I also had it last year and I was going to write the same exact thing. I loved it. It's great for those times when you get to the bar at Noon only to watch Mort announce at 12:30 that your RB2 is out for the game. The only knock I have is that it's not yet out on Verizon, though they've been advertising it for a week. They did the same thing last year. Hopefully it will be live on Verizon soon.

Is it slow? can you make lineup moves? Is it reasonably functional?
It's very easy to use, and any line-up changes appear on your website instantly. It's great!
Ditto to this response. I have a Blackberry through T Mobile and it worked great. All you have to do is sign up through CBS and then you can access their Fantasy site through web pages that are designed for a Blackberry. There is no cost to for the service.

tried it for baseball but hated it. sure you can change your lineup, but searching for available FAs was terrible.

if you want to, download it through VZ and if you don't like it call for a refund. they gave me my money back when I complained.

How was the live scoring GameCenter functionality?
Exactly the same as on the website. The only thing is, you need to refresh it manually. But it updates just as frequesntly as the site does. You can also see scoring for both starters and reserves.

How did you download the companion. I dont see a list of any blackberry's or PDAs on the initial list of phones

:goodposting: And I wonder if a pocket PC could run this?
I have a Sprint PPC 6700. This has Windows 5.0 with IE browser and Sportsline worked great during baseball season. If I recall correctly, I can do anything on the PPC that I would normally do on my laptop-I don't think any functions are restricted. I connect using WiFi wherever it's available for free. If I wanted to, I could pay for the EV DO data plan and have innernet access anywhere at all. But I have enough WiFi access spots where I don't really need to do that. One drawback is that my school doesn't currently have a free VPN client for the PPC. So I have to find one on my own to use the school's network.

I have the T Mobile Sidekick and I dont know what type of browser it has, but it works flawlessly during baseball season, however, once football comes around the only functions that do not work is picking up free agents and the scoreboard (free agents didnt work in baseball either)Have you checked your PPC 6700 during the football season yet. Sportsline has been running a test on their scoreboards so you should be able to see if it works or not. I would be intersted to hear if it does

used it with my verizon LG4500 last year and it worked great. Changed lineups right until gametime, allowed roster moves etc. was a little slow accessing some larger lists, then again I was in Rich Stadium doing it. Never had a problem with it though. Also came in handy when making sure leaguemates I worked with could see how badly I beat them every day at work...

Nope-haven't tried it with Football yet. At school now, so I'll check it when I get home.I did notice that the Game Center has a chat room for each game this year. I doubt that will work on the PPC.ETA-Now that I think about it, the java scripts ran very slowly on the PPC. But then, they ran very slowly on my HP laptop as well.

Well I just realized my phone could download the companion. the sprint Samsung A-620

And so I did it.. and it seems like it will work pretty well for keeping track of things while I'm live at the game or at a sports bar or something.

not bad for $3.99 a month

However, I don't have the $15.00 PCS Vision package..

I wonder how much I'll eat up in data usage....

For my Verizon phone, I download it where all the other content is located: the Get it Now option.

The CBS page is for 2005, anybody find an update for 2006? The BB I have through Sprint is not listed as an available option (I assume becuase it's a newer BB).Thoughts? Ideas? Anything?

Same here. After texting FFC to 22788 I got the following canned response:
Thank you for your interest in our product. The Fantasy Football Companion is currently not live. Please try again in one week for availability
We're into Week 2 of the season and this thing isn't live yet? :hot: :wall:  And finding a PH# for Sportsline is near impossible.

But, according to this Google cache, it's (954)351-2120.

I'm calling to inquire and/or complain tomorrow.
