Anything positive to say about Carson Palmer (1 Viewer)

Palmer isn't as bad as he looks right now, but he also isn't going to throw for 4,000 yards this year. Cincinnati is a  with a brutal schedule. They still have to face New York (Giants), Pittsburgh (twice), Dallas, Jacksonville, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington. There are going to be a lot of bad weeks for the Cincinnati skill position players this year.
Only NYG, Pit & Baltimore are top 10 pass D's (through week 2).Just as an aside why has Cin never (or rarely at least) had a TE as a reliable receiving option? Seems to me without Henry they have very few options (Housh and Ocho).

CP finished 5th in QB scoring (1 PPC, 1 pt/50 yards pass, 3 pts for TD, -2 Int) last year. His three year aveage puts him 4th. He has had two really lousy games which are clearly concerning. His O-lines issues are well documented in various posts. However, from a FF perspective he is an elite QB. Week 1 in the NFL is frequently a statistical aberation so I wouldn't put too much into his stats for week 1. Week 2 saw him playing in high winds. IF Cin would be a pass first team rather than insisting on trying to establish the run, he would be just fine. I think he will continue to be a top 10 QB (from a FF perspective) however I think he will likely underperform relative to his ADP.
I only have him in 1/7 leagues this year and only because he fell to the 5th round, but I do agree that these first couple of games are a statistical abberation. I hope they turn it around quickly though, because I'm concerned about their confidence levels. I heard Chad on NFL network saying that their confidence was down already...never thought I would hear something like that from CJ. He will be sitting on my bench in favor of Kitna until he either turns it around or has an easy matchup.

Was reading the Bengals vs. Giants matchup just now and suprised to learn this:

New York's biggest challenge may be getting to Palmer. While the Bengals have struggled offensively, they've allowed their quarterback to be sacked only three times - tied for the fewest in the league.
http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/preview?game...p;override=trueSo while the Bengals offense has struggled and many have said the Oline is not playing well, Palmer has still managed to avoid the pass rush very well by moving around and throwing the ball away.

I think that the Bengals Oline can improve. And as Chad and Housh get back in a groove there will be better offense ahead. Lets not forget that both WR did not play or practice really at all in pre-season. They now have 2 weeks of reps.

The Ravens game week 1 their defense threw a lot of complex personel and blitz packages at the Bengals that were very effective in creating chaos. Week 2 was 50mph winds that really stiffled the passing game.

This weeks matchup will still be a difficult one for the Bengals offense to get on track and I expect the Giants to dominate LOS and TOP. The Giants certainly have a very good pass rush, but if Palmer can continue to avoid sacks I think we will see some improvement from the passing game this week.

Once the passing game gets on track (maybe some signs this week but further improvement in week 4) that will create more space for Perry to make plays. From the limited plays I have seen Perry does look very good imo. He just has not had any room to run with the Bengals Oline being better at pass protection than run blocking and the passing game still not having been established. If the Bengals can get their passing game going that will better set up the run and that in turn will lead to a big improvement of the offense as a whole.
