Archeologists Claim to find Large Architectural Objects Near Stonehege (1 Viewer)

How close can you get to the actual rocks at Stonehenge? It looked llike everyone can't get any closer than that road.

Very cool discovery, not sure about the rewriting history statement but very cool.
From the article:
"The extraordinary scale, detail and novelty of the evidence produced by the Stonehenge Hidden Landscapes Project, which the new discoveries at Durrington Walls exemplify, is changing fundamentally our understanding of Stonehenge and the world around it," said Paul Garwood, an archaeologist and lead historian on the project at the University of Birmingham.

"Everything written previously about the Stonehenge landscape and the ancient monuments within it will need to be rewritten."

i went there in the 80s as a kid and you could walk around the stones but looks like that has changed, unfortunate but understandable.

'Rewriting the history of Stonehenge' might have been a better choice of words. Regardless, I think this stuff is way cool. Discovering stuff about the ancient world fascinates me.
