Are all Chargers fans rooting for the Bears? (1 Viewer)

Just curious,

Are all Charger fans rooting for the Bears to smack the Colts? As a Charger fan, I have always rooted for the AFC in the Super Bowl. But seeing that gaggle of Mannings acting like "they" (Peyton, Archie, and Eli) have won the Super Bowl already has made me an official Bear fan for one game. It would be especially sweet to see Grossman win one instead of Peyton!

....who are Charger fans rooting for?

1- rooting for a good game

2- I think I'm taking the bears and the points, so that's what else I'll be rooting for

3- could care less about the eli/archie snubb, the giants got Owned.

Out of all the things to be upset at in football, I really don't get the hatred for the Mannings. They are class personified. I wish more athletes were like Peyton Manning. Works hard, plays hard, win and loses with class. What else can you say?

Peyton is classy and showed it yesterday. He's had a few lapses but is generally a gracious winner/loser. I think you'll have a tough time convincing any Charger fans that Eli and Archie are classy the crap they pulled during the draft. I will probably root for the Bears. I was a big Walter Payton fan and that has carried over to being a little bit of a bears fan. I really wanted to see a Saints/Chargers super bowl. Overall, I'm happy that Manning beat the Patriots. That way I don't have to listen to the media proclaiming BB and Brady as gods nor do I have to listen to the stupid Manning choke talk anymore.

I don't put Peyton in the same mold as his father and brother. I think Peyton is one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game, and I think he is a good person and sport as well. I'm glad he has made it to the Super Bowl, and I hope he and the Colts win themselves a ring in a couple weeks.

I've been rooting for the Colts since I liked Peyton before his punk brother was even in college. I don't see why any Chargers fans should be against Peyton because of what his brother did. I don't even blame Archie, it was Eli's decision.

Quite possibly the most childish post I've read on these boards. I just wish you were only fishing.

Why childish? Seeing Eli and Archie in that sky box annoys me because of the disrespect they had to my team. In a game where I have no fan loyalty to either team, it seems as good a reason as any to root against the Manning clan. I see fans roots against T Brady or the Redkins for no better reasons....(and really...is this post more childish than the discussion on R Caldwell's eyes..... :excited: )

Oh please. You sound just as ridiculous.I like Peyton and I was glad to see him get his chance. I like Dungy too. I don't care for Eli or Archie too much, but I'm not going to put that on Peyton. He seems like a class act.

Chargers fan here.

Eli - Hate

Archie - Strong dislike

Peyton - Generally like

Colts - Neutral

AFC - like

Rooting interest? Mostly undecided but leaning towards the Colts

Pats fan here. I'm rooting for whoever I bet on. Outside of that I'm rooting for a good game. I don't really care about the Manning thing - either Manning gets that last hurdle and wins the SB, or he loses and his career still has that lack of a ring hanging over his head - either story line is compelling to me.

I find Bears fans much more annoying thatn Colts fans though. I guess that's something to consider.

FYI I'm liking the Colts -7.

I agree (except for pizzatyme of course - he's as obnoxious as any Bears fan  ). Why they're almost as bad as Pats fans  .The whole Archie/Eli thing was low class, but in the end they only ended up screwing themselves, and the Chargers came out of it great - so I find it hard to have animosity towards them, and Peyton had nothing to do with it.I'll be rooting for the Colts, they're AFC, and I'd like to see Dungy, Harrison and yes even Peyton finish the job.

While I was raised in San Diego I was born in Chicago so the Bears are the 1B to the Chargers 1A when I look at my favorite teams.

I'll be rooting for the Bears but should they lose I'll be OK with it because I think Payton is a class guy and I wouldn't mind seeing him get a ring.

I'm hoping next year is the Chargers year to get over the hump.

I like Peyton.

Eli seems like a good kid. I think he made a mistake in 2004, and I take some pleasure in the fact that he and the Giants look like boobs for it. But I don't dislike him.

I don't really care about Archie.

i am anti-mannings and don't see how the term class can be applied to guy who uses his nfl clout to help his son circumvent the nfl draft process in a way that no one else in the draft class could. but i digress...

i like dungy and would love vinatieri to get a chance to win the 'bowl for a second team, so i am a little conflicted right now about who i'll root for. i genrally lean nfc

I'll be cheering for the Colts. The Chargers are my team but Manning went to UT who I grew up cheering for.

It's not Peyton's fault that Eli snubbed the Chargers. And honestly, I think the Chargers might have got the better end of the deal. Eli wouldn't have been happy there and, thus far it seems that Rivers could be better. Not to mention they got some great picks out of that trade that will make them contenders for the next couple of years as well imo.

I don't really understand how the Eli thing working out for the Chargers makes Eli any less of a putz.

Do people hate John Elway because he refused to play for the Colts?Let it go.

Sorry to  a little, but you did mention the "gaggle" of Mannings. It might have been discussed before, but Eli didn't seem all that excited about Peyton's comeback to me. I'd hope a brother would have gotten over his loss and could just root for his sibling.

If he really wasn't all that excited (didn't look like it on TV), Chargers fans should root for Peyton to get a ring and let that sit in Eli's stomach all off-season. And then he can face the New York media and Tom Coughlin.

It's threads like this that make me wish Marshall Applewhite had rented a much larger house.

I don't think Eli gets excited about anything.
