So when they beat the Saints does this mean the Saints will unequivocally be the worst playoff team ever because they lost to the terrible Seahawks?

Most years the fans think there's a bigger difference between NFL teams than there really is. This year it's even more pronounced. The great equalizer in football has always been T.O's and special teams. Just keep in mind that Brees is likely going to be forced to pass more than ever with the injuries to the running game and he was #2 in the league in INT's. On the other side of the ball Leon Washington was one of the most dynamic kick returners in the league this year.

I'm just sayin' pundits are piling on SEA right now and the Saints are nowhere near as good as the team that won the SB as a huge underdog. I like both the home underdogs this weekend.

The poll here doesn't specify NFL.

After reading the NY Times someone linked earlier. I may have to go with the 1987-88 Toronto Maple Leafs and their 0.300 winning percentage.

The minute I saw this thread, I knew I should have sold everything I own and put the money on Seattle.

I'll bet the Saints never even knew they got HUCKS'd.

um, I never said they were the worst...but good try

Would it matter how the game goes this week? If they win would that change anyone's opinion? How about if they played a close game and barely lost? Would it have to be a blowout? Or would the game itself have no bearing on anything?
I think it absolutely has bearing on it. If they won this week, how can you say they're the worst team ever in the playoffs? This is yet to be determined. If they get blown out, then they'd probably get my vote. I don't think New Oreans is playing all that well either. This isn't going to be some 30 point win by New Oreans.
Those thinking Seattle was the worst playoff team ever before a playoff game was even played spoke way too early.

Classic overreaction to a tiny sample size.

The Seahawks are still, by far, the worst overall football team to make the playoffs. They had a single great game (offensively, at least), capped by a single phenomenal run--all at home, with a ridiculous advantage--but there isn't a team that's made the playoffs in the past that you'd pick them to beat.

9 losses by 15+ points. :lmao: :lmao:

Nah, they're still a below-average NFL team that lucked into a playoff bearth.
How is winning one's division 'lucking into a playoff berth'? I'm not arguing that they might be below average as playoff teams go (even though they just beat last years champs), but where do you see the luck factor coming in?

They're lucky to be in the worst division in the NFL. Put the Seahaks in any other division, and they miss the playoffs.

The NFC West has been in a divisional playoff game every year since the re-alignment in 2002. It wasn't a pretty season, but I can't find any posts from you preseason complaining about division winners getting into the playoffs.
