So I downloaded the FBG iPhone app when it came out, and despite never really having much use for it, I left it on my phone. I've also never listened to the Audbile before. I know I'm way late to that party, but I guess I'm just not a podcast guy.
Anyway, the other morning I was sitting on the toilet, bored, skimming around my iPhone looking for something to do. I popped open the FBG app to play "Name Two" for a while and realized that these Audible podcasts are right in there. I suddenly had the revelation that I could listen to these in the car on my morning commute. No hassle - I just hop in the car, plug in my phone, pull up the day's new Audible and press play. I don't know if they're always right around 30 minutes long but they have been so far this week, which is the perfect length for my commute. And they're good! Not that I necessarily expected anything subpar from the FBGs, but I never thought I'd enjoy listening to it as much as I have the past few days. Excellent work by the guys.
I definitely think I'll be listening to these all season long, and wanted to share my thanks for another great product. I'm sure there are other threads about the Audible, but I never ventured into them so I figured I'd share with everyone else who may have ignored this great feature all along. I'm also aware that I could probably get the Audible podcast on my phone without the app, but the point is that I never have in the past and probably never would have if I hadn't stumbled across it in the app - the app makes it easy because it's already on my phone, and the new episodes are there waiting for me each day.
I'm also wondering if there are other great uses of the app that I've been missing out on. What else are you guys using it for?
