Are your leagues add/drops closed from the draft until NFL opener? (1 Viewer)

Just wondering how many of your leagues handle this .In 3 of 4 of my leagues we have first come first serve pickups from the conclusion of the draft until the leagues first Thursday game after which time we use the waivers process for the remainder of the season. In the league that is closed my opponent drafted Hartley a week or so ago and now has to go without a kicker. I handcuffed Jennings to MJD and now will have to spend bidding bucks to get Deji Karim. What are your views on this? One thought I had was holding our last round of an online draft 2 days before the opener. You might see some fun trading and an interesting round depending on injuries and players that rose after the first rounds of your draft.

In salary cap auction league, we use our normal blind bidding waiver windows, with an extra one added to cover the time frame that during the NFL season is FCFS over the weekend.

In draft league, we have FCFS between draft and start of NFL. We only have a single 1 day prioritized waiver during the season and most of the time then it is FCFS.

We'll have run two periods before Sundays games. We run one period Sunday to Wednesday, they process and then another blind bid period runs till Saturday. After they've processed its FCFS until the games begin on Sunday.

In the 3 redrafts I do, it is FCFS as soon as the draft is finished. We do not do waivers during the season at all. In this day and age of the smart phone and everything else I see no reason to have a waiver period, but that is just my .02.

Rosters are frozen after the draft until tomorrow when we run waivers for the first time. Teams are free to add/drop after waivers run. Waiver order is pulled out of a hat during our live draft. This was a change for the better that we made a few years ago. Previously it was free add/drop during the preseason. If an injury happened during a preseason game it was a mad rush to the free agent pool.

My 2 main leagues hold auctions on Wed, Sat, and Sunday. Same holds from draft to season opener.

I can't think a reason to keep people from making transactions from the draft through week 1 (unless the draft is today or tomorrow). Not sure what purpose that serves.

Looks like we are in the vast majority here. We run a worst to first waiver wire on wednedsays regular season as well as preseason. We use order of drafting as worst to first the 2 waiver wires that run pre season. 12th team gets first pick 1st team gets the last pick.

Nope not in any of my leagues. My recent draft was Sunday. What we do is all players go on waivors for 48 hours after draft then picks up open up till games starts.

We run free fcfs from the draft until kickoff of week 1. After that, you may still make fcfs pickups throughout the week (costs 2 dollars per pickup) until the final Monday night game (all players lock for add or drop once their respective game begins) and then we begin our Faab bidding, which is opened weds pm, at which time fcfs opens again, and again at 2 dollars per pickup. Our faab is 100 real dollars that we pay with our entry.

Waivers for two days in reverse order of draft selection.

Then, first come, first served until Week 1 Games (lock at start of games.)

You almost have to have some kind of movement post draft as someone inevitably forgets to grab a kicker because Denarius Moore is there in round 16.

We use blind bidding in both my leagues (start w/ a set budget, $100, of fantasy $$). The bidding process starts the day after our draft, but bids aren't sorted until the night before the first game. I hate first-come-first-serve waiver wires. Then again, I only play in $$ leagues these days. When $$ is on the line, I don't like the idea of whoever is near a computer can pick up a free agent.

   Have a $100 budget for the season with blind bid processed Tuesday after week 1 then open waivers at $5 per waiver move until kickoff of next game. We do not have any waivers before week 1 (though I regret that this year as I accidentally drafted a 2nd kicker is stead of a defense :banned: ). I am considering doing something different next year by having a blind bid processed by the Tues or Wed before the the first Game on Thursday.

Add/Drops are not allowed after our championship game until after our draft.

of course you can do waivers prior to start of week 1...what happens if your stud QB named Manning gets hurt....

FCFS from draft until kickoff of the first game. We draft end of August, so we have a period of time where something could change, so we don't penalize owners. After kickoff of the first game we move to blind bidding waivers (each owner has $100 to spend throughout the season), regular add/drops outside of BB waivers are $1 a transaction.
