Arians Retiring As Coach - Moving to Front Office (1 Viewer)

If the Dolphins actually had anything else to trade, I'd say this plays right into the Tom Brady to Miami narrative. Arians was totally against it, maybe higher powers say they are going to pursue it, so Arians resigns.

But he stays with the club. If Arians wanted to stay to make a run with Brady and there was any chance of Brady leaving I don't think Arians stays with the club. He would just ride off into the sunset.

Hate to say it but my first though was his health. I hope Arians health is not a factor in this decision. Arians seems cantankerous to me but always a class act. If he says, "I wanted to ensure when I walked away that Todd Bowles would have the best opportunity to succeed" I'll take his word on it and hope Bowles does succeed.

I would say this is the exact opposite. I think this is the Bucs saying we can't/ won't trade you to Miami, but as a peace offering we will move your headache to the front office. New head coach is 99% defense and special teams, Tom and Byron run the offense.

Rooting for this, and then Brady retires before even putting on a jersey

Yeah. That makes more sense, but it's not nearly as interesting. :P

Arians into a role where his heart won't give out.  A well qualified Bowles into the HC job.  Well done by the TB organization.

Brady won this power struggle. Arians has pretty bad PR with slapping players in the head and then allegedly the AB distraction with the texts and playing through injury. The truth is somewhere in the middle, but I'm guessing Brady also came back in the sense that I don't wanna work with Arians. All speculation.
