Interestingly, they cut Davis and Togafau ...Their LB corp inside is Dansby, Hayes, and Beisel ... seems kinda thin for running a 3-4 ...

Agreed. Signals more 4-3 than 3-4 imo. What other LB left on the roster?

Pace, Berry, Blackstock, Johnson, Tafoya

WOW, someone should be asking why they drafted him in the 3rd round? What happened between watching his college play to now? Also, someone should be firing the scout or person that recommended taking him when you waste a 1st day pick like that. We're not talking about 2 yrs later he didn't pan out...it's a few monthes later.

 Something is screwy here. May have made sense if they kept Togafau, who was running with the second team. Beisel is well below average so Davis and Togafau are either horrible or they screwed the pooch in some other way.

The starters for the 3-4 are still in place (albeit without Okeafor) so this may not impact the scheme...if and until the next injury takes place.

Togafau was pretty impressive in the game I saw him play. I have to think someone will pick him up (HINT Lions). I'm surprised that they cut both him and Davis. I figured one would make it, and possibly thought Davis would because of his draft position. But I really didn't think both would be cut.

Darrell Hunter was, Like Pago, playing at a very high level. I would welcome any of those two in Dallas. Trannon looked like a great project to me also. He dominated Cromartie last week. Ah well, I predict AZ suxors again.

Bizarre they cut a guy they drafted in the third round. We was looking slow to me out there. Perhaps Arizona realized there may only be one Buster Davis and the San Diego one was better?

Absolutely. Spending a first day pick on a player and then not even keeping him through his first training camp indicates a scouting/front office failure somewhere. They must have seen something that they think is absolutely un-correctable.

From AZCentral

For Davis, it was the that "he never really stepped up" and his play "was not quite what we had seen on tape," according to Whisenhunt, who also cut quarterbacks Shane Boyd and Lang Campbell, leaving receiver Anquan Boldin as the third-string, emergency quarterback - for now.

Is he still worth rostering? Was he just not a good fit for their scheme?
Almost certain to be a practice squad player at best this year and maybe next. The quote above suggests that the coaches saw none of the "talent" that he appeared to have on tape, so it's more than just a scheme issue.

Maybe it was his eating habits.
