Assani's Poker Thread (2 Viewers)

For those interested in sweating, I will be updating on twitter: https://twitter.com/AssaniFisher

I don't want to bombard my followers with constant updates, so I'll only update if/when I reach the money and then every break after reaching the money(and in the super big ones like the Main Event, maybe only every other break after reaching money).

0/3 so far....Yesterday got in Ah8h on 69Tw/2 hearts early in the first 2k and was up against flopped nut straight, in the later 2k TT< AQ aipf after ~7 hours of play. The 5 card O8 earlier in the week went super quickly- just lost 2 or 3 pots early and never as able to amount any sort of stack...thats definitely gonna be standard for me in 6 max O8 tournaments, gonna be super aggro and either build a big stack or bust quickly.

Going to be putting together a WSOP package soon(today or tomorrow). Hopefully will have paypal set up to take transfers from there.

paypal should be set up under the email kamagf@yahoo.com

That is also the email that you can use for Wells Fargo and other non-BoA bank transfers.

One person has tentatively offered to buy up all my action and stake me for all the tournaments I want to play. I'm not sure what his terms are though- going to be meeting with him tomorrow. If I don't go with his offer, then I'll have everything up by Wednesday and will PM all those who expressed interest.

Serious question but not directed at you personally -- don't take this as some sort of veiled attack or anything.

Let's say I buy 100% of a particular player's action. How do I know that I'm getting that player's A game? It seems like I would really want the player to have some stake in his own play. Or are professional poker players just that competitive? Surely there are some pros that would end up mailing it in, right?

You would be paying for 100% of his fees, but you wouldn't get 100% of his earnings (closer to 50%).

 Why would Assani even play if he wasn't getting something in return? I assume he gets a good chunk of the winnings.

Sorry for the delay guys....as of now its looking like I'm just gonna be backed entirely by this one guy, but we still have to negotiate(getting poker players to be timely is not easy).

I just busted the PLO8 event...I'm 0% so far, still have 3 tourneys left....if any of you guys who bought action are sweating me and wanna know what I had or what I was thinking on any play(or just wanna know how I busted a particular tournament) I'll always be down to discuss it- I think an important aspect of selling action is being totally upfront with your plays(including when you may have made mistakes) so that even though your results may be bad, your backers can still feel confident it was a good investment.

Anyway, hope I have better luck in the last 3!

Sorry guys. Stupid question apparently. Makes sense now.
No worries, its a legit concern in some situations....for example, there are definitely some players who if they only have 10% of themselves they probably won't be concentrating as hard as if they had a higher %. I think the key thing is to know and trust the person you're backing in spots like these.

I actually watched a bit of the NLHE on Sunday as I had spare time and found it interesting. It seemed you were pretty card dead early and had to manage the short stack most of the day. Obviously most hands I had no idea what the holdings were though and granted I didn't watch all the hands. The 10's just got outran by AQ or that double up would have given you a fighting shot going forward.

did not make it to the add-on period in the 1 rebuy 1 add on $1k event, so I owe everyone $10 per percent you had of me. For everyone who sent on PokerStars I have already shipped it back, but there were a few FBGs who sent via bank- send me a PM and I can send back via the same method.

No cashes for me, 0/8

Looks like I'm gonna have around 35% of main event action to sell actually. Selling at:

1.5x for 1-4%

1.3x for 5-9%

1.2x for 10+%

BoA transfer or cash in Vegas preferred. If someone taking 10+% can only do paypal then I can most likely find a friend with a paypal and you can transfer it to him. Posting this in a few places Saturday morning, expect to sell out by Sunday night so reserve quickly. Playing on Monday.

As for this summer...

Struck out again so far on tourneys- 0/6. Been grinding the Big O cash games. Put a small deposit on Bovada- the anonymous games there are great for me getting HU PLO8 action, thats probably what I'll be grinding after WSOP ends.

I'd be in for 5% or 10%. That's 500 or 1k, right?

What does that 1.3x or 1.2x mean. Is that a cap on how much return we can get? A multiplier? Explain this to me like I just play drunk heads up with Unialias all night and don't know anything more than that. I can fire it off via Paypal if you figure out a way to accept it that way.

OT

x = same percentage of buy in as you're backing. So 2% of a $10k buy in would be $200.

You're paying a premium to get that stake though -- 20% to 50%, depending on how much of a position you take.

At least that's how I read it.

Sorry I should've done this to make it more clear....

1% = $150

5% = $650

10% = $1200

Made day two with 49,750. Lost a really dumb hand at the end of the day where I'm ahead of this button clicking Brazilian a good majority of the time. Pretty happy overall with my play. Excited to be back on Tuesday.

Very cool.

I think for my 40th birthday, which will fall in the week of the WSOP in a couple years, I'm going to go out to Vegas and buy in and play it once. I'm terrible at poker, but even I stay disciplined enough (highly unlikely) and get good cards, there's always a chance of moneying. Can't wait to do this.

AF started at 30k chips, at 30,500 at the first break. Uneventful. He did have a run-in with AA while he had JJ, but damage was minimal.

I'm thinking about doing a small event next year.

Could be fun too. I might be game for that. I've really only played in one live "pro" event in my life, and that really hot brunette chick who looks like Alyssa Milano was at the table next to me. It was some WPT event in Atlantic City. I donked out before the first break and then went to the casino and got hammered.
