Ha.Is Fitzgerald healthy too?
I understand that Fitzgerald is probably the most talented receiver in the league, but I don't really get the overwhelming opinion that it would be shocking for Boldin to put up a better season. Boldin isn't some scrub, he's had multiple 1200 yard seasons. I think Fitzgerald does better, but I don't think it's a lock barring kidnapping.i suppose fitz could be kidnapped or retire. otherwise, no.
Boldin is not a touchdown guy, he just isn't. And Fitzgerald is one of if not the best TD guy in the league right now. Fitz will have many more targets than Boldin will which will most likely result in more catches and yards as well. I do think it would be overwhelmingly shocking if Boldin has a better year than Fitzgerald.I understand that Fitzgerald is probably the most talented receiver in the league, but I don't really get the overwhelming opinion that it would be shocking for Boldin to put up a better season. I understand all that but I still wouldn't classify Boldin edging out Fitz as shocking. Randy Moss's rookie season was shocking to me, not the prospect of a 3 time pro bowler outperforming Fitzgerald. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be down on Fitzgerald or high on Boldin so much as trying to be aware that much, much stranger things have happened in the NFL.Boldin is not a touchdown guy, he just isn't. Targets yes but will the football be close to his hands?I say no. Even with Boldin being brought in as a #1, Flacco still has a certain amount of comfort with Mason and Rice will get his. Even with Leinart, Fitzgerald is going to get a ton of targets (probably even more). I think Fitz is still worth at least 1100 and double digit scores. Boldin has no chance at hitting those numbers in my opinion
It matters less with Fitz than most any receiver in the NFL.Just get it to his general area and he's out jump, out muscle, and out effort all the DBs in the area. He's that good.Targets yes but will the football be close to his hands?I say no. when leinart was the starter earlier in his career, in their first 13 games together fitz went 78 rec. 1038 yds, 5 TDs. certainly not exhaustive by any means, but i dont see any reason those numbers would get worse. i saw fitz come down with the ball in triple-coverage again and again in college and even in the pros. no one tracks the ball like him, no one high-points like him, and he's extremely tough to move off the ball. i think we all respect boldin around here, not only for his productivity but also for the way he plays. but larry is a transcendent player and may end up in 2nd place in every major receiving category before all is said and done. i just don't see any reason to bet on Q.It matters less with Fitz than most any receiver in the NFL.Just get it to his general area and he's out jump, out muscle, and out effort all the DBs in the area. He's that good.Targets yes but will the football be close to his hands?I say no. While I agree that Fitz is a TD machine, I don't think it's fair to classify Boldin as "not a touchdown guy." On the list of active WR's in the league, no one younger than Boldin has more TDs than him except Fitz. And it is even more impressive when you see how many games Boldin has missed. linkBoldin is not a touchdown guy, he just isn't. 2008 Boldin had a lot of nice games but finished closer to 7th in my PPR leagues. He missed 4 games but was the top guy per game. Nobody is denying his talent. Is everyone forgetting that just two years ago Boldin almost went wire-to-wire as the #1 fantasy WR? And that included the games he missed after getting blown up in the Jets game. Fitz and maybe A.Johnson caught him in the final couple of weeks.
That is an AWESOME stat, where did u get it (source), if I may ask? Also, can you look at different time table like over past three seasons. Do they have the same stats for QBs, TEs, RBs...again great statistic for TD heavy/non PPR leagues.Highest TD per game played production since 2003 (minimum 10 games played):Randy Moss 0.83Terrell Owens 0.73Marvin Harrison 0.67Larry Fitzgerald 0.64Marques Colston 0.58Reggie Wayne 0.53Steve Smith 0.52Chad Ochocinco 0.51Plaxico Burress 0.5Hines Ward 0.48Greg Jennings 0.47Anquan Boldin 0.47Torry Holt 0.47Calvin Johnson 0.47Javon Walker 0.44Austin Collie 0.44Roy Williams 0.44T.J. Boldin is not a td guy? Are you crazy? Taking out the games not started for Boldin anf Fitz and averaging out for a full 16 game season Boldin is a 7.57 TD per season guy and Fitz is a 10.26. Not such a huge gap.Now with Boldin the Ds need to respect Rice more than Wells and Hightower. Teams can game plan better against Wells or Hightower and double Fitz. I like Flaco better than Leinart.Supporting WRs similar in both.I'm not making an argument to draft Boldin over Fitz, but given the context of this question it's not a far reach for me. Both are gamers and Boldin could pull it off.Boldin is not a touchdown guy, he just isn't. And Fitzgerald is one of if not the best TD guy in the league right now. The FBG Historical Data Dominator will let you enter many combinations of statistics sorted by year, totals of years, etc. and divide as well. So you could search by total fantasy points over the past 3 sesaons by TE and divide by games played if you wanted.Or you could look up total receptions by all WR in the NFL (since 1960) at the age of 28. Or 32. Or by season. Or by the last 2 seasons. Or the last 20 seasons. It's a nifty little tool. That is an AWESOME stat, where did u get it (source), if I may ask?
