ATTN Warner Owners in deep leagues (2 Viewers)

What are Warner owners doing in deep leagues with Leinart? Are you stashing him on your bench for when Warner gets injured and/or benched (i.e. is Leinart a must handcuff for Warner owners)? Or are you taking a risk that Warner will keep the job all year??

And a related question, what are the odds Warner keeps the starting job all year?

As long as Warner stays healthy the job is his. When Leinart does take over this season for an injured Warner the entire Arizona offense will become a wasteland.

Trading Warner after week 2

I never understand these types of questions. What do you mean, what are we doing?
There are a lot of questions surrounding Leinart. Some people like myself think he's absolute garbage. Other people think he's got a whole lot of potential. Either way he's probably available in leagues with smaller rosters. Ones with larger rosters don't have all the room in the world so they may want to drop him for somebody with real upside or they may want to hold onto him because they feel he has upside.Anybody can draft and hold MJD...Arizona has two great wr's so one could think it's a great situation...hence the reason the OP asked his question. He just wants feedback what all of us think of Leinart's talent.

I mean, as a Warner owner, because of Warner's unlikelihood of holding the starting job all season (either due to injury or poor play), are you handcuffing Warner with Leinart (i.e. wasting a roster spot on Leinart assuming that he will start at some point during the season)?

Seriously, Leinart is probably third string right now behind Brian St. Pierre. The coach does not like him, he purposely set the bar too high for Leinart to be comfortable during the summer then pulled the rug from under him. Unless Wisehunt is leaving the Valley of the Sun anytime soon, you can safely leave Leinart on your waiver wire. A shame but its reality in the NFL and the influence of a new coaching staff. Same thing with Alex Smith.

I think youre a little offbase manI highly doubt Leinart isnt QB2..and WHISENHUNT (though if he wasnt PITs OC I probably could his name either) certainly wouldnt put a basic practice squad QB ahead of Leinart.I have Warner in a lot of leagues because I almost never draft QBs in the top 6 rounds, but I dont have Leinart in any of them now (all 10-12 team leagues).Partially because I dont see him putting up much better #s than the Tavaris' that are on the WWIf youre in a deep league, you might as well keep Leinart. I doubt there are QBs out there with more potential

There's no chance Leinart is 3rd string. You honestly think Whisenhunt "purposely" tried to set him up to fail? Leinart wasn't getting it done in preseason. They have a fairly solid vet QB, and didn't want to risk a shot at the playoffs when Leinart still doesn't seem ready to shoulder the load. It's as simple as that. To suggest otherwise and that it was some sort of conspiracy by the coaches to "pull the rug from under him" is utterly ridiculous. No offense intended. But like yinzer said, it's just way off base.As for when Leinart gets his chance again, it will be whichever one of these comes first: A) Warner gets hurt, B) Warner plays horribly for an extended stretch (not likely), C) Cardinals are firmly out of any potential playoff spot later in the year, or D) next season.

Its not the way that you look, but your lack of INTs that catches my eyeIts just the way that he throws, not the words that he says, or the bandLONG Live JIM JAMES!!

If Warner gets hurt Leinart isn't anything but a backup. The Cardinals look like a totally different team with Warner running the show.

I drafted Warner in Round 7 in my 14-team league, and Leinart just got dropped.Depends on how secure you are in Warner. He's a top-10 QB, but I don't expect him to play 16 games. Question is whether Leinart puts up better numbers than the other guys on your waiver wire (in my case Jackson/O'Sullivan/Pennington/Croyle/Orton/Flacco).I actually think Leinart would step up and outperform each of them (w/ the possible exception of O'Sullivan, who could put up some decent garbage-time numbers). Im seriously thinking about pulling the trigger.
