auction draft for smaller leagues: bid more or less? (1 Viewer)

wondering about this, it looks like we had 2 bail on us so our 10 team is only an 8 team (yeah I know). I'm not sure it impacts bidding though since roster sizes are same-?

on one hand I'm thinking you can bid higher because there is less competition (owners with competing bids) otherwise the top players fly by.

on the other hand I'm thinking you should bid lower because there will be better talent avail later in the draft.

or is the truth a mix of the 2 and so it balances out??

I think that thought actually goes to the case for bidding higher on the initial studs that get called out. There will be plenty of bargains at the end of the draft which allows you to load up early and still be ok in the depth department.

All player values increase 25%.

I was thinking that, I guess it's a question of degree - since everyone else will be in the same boat, I may end up taking what's left over at the end - which for a small league will be better than usual obviously but still could be well inferior to what others can get.
