Greetings,
I'm having a hard time getting a detailed look at ESPN and Yahoo's auction functionality, so I'm hoping somebody with some experience could help.
I run a league where we need to run an auction online, and I'm sick of using a chatroom for this purpose. Several seasons ago, we used fantasyauctioneer, which was great. Obviously, they're no longer around.
1) Do both sites allow for keepers and adjusted budgets? In other words, team A has 2 keepers costing $20, meaning they start the auction with those players already rostered and $20 less than team B, who has no keepers.
2) I noticed on the Yahoo site that you can set the auction time limit to 30 seconds. Does this mean that people can attempt to beat the buzzer at thirty seconds, or does it mean that the clock restarts as soon as somebody bids, until 30 seconds without a bid has elapsed? This is very important to our league, since we have absolutely no interest in people trying to beat the buzzer.
2B) How does ESPN handle the clock during the auction? Can it be set up as mentioned above, where a bid restarts the clock?
Thanks a lot for your input.
