Austin Collie going forward (1 Viewer)

Was yesterday a good indicator of how the Colts wr rotation is going to work the rest of the season or did they simply use that rotation because Colllie is banged up?

In the early part of the game it looked to me that Collie was only on the field in three wr sets.

Anybody have a better idea what is happening in Indy?

They've been using that rotation all year. Collie's role hasn't changed a bit.
This is from 10/6:Phillip B. Wilson of the Indianapolis Star suggests that Austin Collie will remain the Colts' starting flanker even with Pierre Garcon returning. They haven't been using that rotation "all year" since Garcon played in a little over a game of the Colts' first four. Collie owners were hoping what Wilson said would be true but Collie's injury might have changed that. If he doesn't take over the starting flanker spot his value takes a huge hit as long as Garcon is playing.

The Wilson quote above was a poor interpretation of what he said by the website that put it out. If you read his exact twitter feed he just asked a rhetorical question. "what if Collie remains the starter even with Garcon returning." He had no knowledge nor did he indicate that was being talked about.Yesterday, Indy used them exactly as they did in the 1st game, so I think the only assumption based off of the small sample we have is that is the rotation going forward. Garcon is more suited as the outside deep threat and Collie in the slot anyway, so it makes sense.I understand Garcon got a ton of looks- I only saw about half the game, but he looked good and sure handed when I was watching. I didn't think he missed any catches, so was surprised when I saw that he have so many target incompletions. Anyone know if they were catchable balls he missed, or just misthrows, etc.

Manning was terrible in this game, probably the worst I've ever seen out of him. Alot of his passes were at the feet of the WR's or way over their heads.

Isnt Collie in a protective boot?

per Pro Football Focus:

Reggie Wayne played 78 snaps on Sunday. Pierre Garcon played 73. Austin Collie played 54.

Some of the disparity could be because of Collie's health.
