AZ senator wants church attendance mandatory. (1 Viewer)

“Probably we should be debating a bill requiring every American to attend a church of their choice on Sunday to see if we can get back to having a moral rebirth,” she continued.

“But since that would never be allowed
Scary that she's one of 100 people in charge of half of Congress.

Really? You might want to read that story again.

Fixed, but still scary.

So today I went paddle boarding on the lake for a couple of hours with my wife. Gorgeous out. Like 80. Water was about same temp. Played golf afterwards. Getting a little warm for that but it's a good sweat so that's helpful. Now sitting in my 2k square home that I rent for under 900 per month. Going to work tomorrow and make above national market value for what I do.

Then I read a story like this and for a second I consider moving. I mean this type of thinking is pretty commonplace both local and statewide and it bleeds into my professional life enough that it is annoying. But then I jump back into my Socratic cave and indignantly assume that this is just a ploy to keep others out of my state and in turn keeping up my quality of life and I feel much better about it.

Without even hearing the tone of voice, from the rest of her comments it seemed an offhand comment meaning "people should go to church" and not actually advocating there be a law like this.

I'd write this one off to people making a big deal out of nothing.

She clearly acknowledges that such a law would be unconstitutional, so no, she's not advocating it. Still sorta scary comment (either scary scary or scary stupid) particularly when she says she stands by her remarks (however flippant).
