I wish I was choosing between Marshawn Lynch and Travis Henry but the realities of injuries and BYE weeks have already set in for me. It's just my non-expert opinion, but if you are looking for a spot start or a BYE week fill-in this may be useful - or not. This does not include any RBBCs (DWill, Norwood, TBell, CTaylor) as those would be obvious starts over these guys.
Ron Dayne (HOU)- Seems to make the most of his opportunities and this could be one of them. Green is hurting and may not even play from what I understand. Obviously if he doesn't play, Dayne is a no brainer but even if Green starts I think Dayne has some value. At the very least he sees any carries if HOU is playing with the lead and probably all goal line opportunities.
Prediction:
17-20 carries - 80 yds and 1TD
Musa Smith (BAL) - Wilis McGahee will get his - but is there enough left over for Smith to give you some points? I think so. The Ravens should pound the ball at CLE all game long and I could see Smith getting some decent yards at the end, in addition to his usual 2-3 catches if the Ravens open up a sizable lead.
prediction:
8 carries - 50 yds; 4 rec - 25; 30% chance of a TD.
Michael Pittman/ Ernest Graham (TB) - I have to think with Caddy hurting that both Graham and Pittman will get some extra work - certainly at the goal line. Gruden has flat out said "We will do everything we can to incorporate Earnest Graham and Michael Pittman as well." The negatives are that I see this being a pretty close game so Caddy probably stays involved the whole game and CAR is a tough mathup against the run.
Prediction:
Pittman - 3-5 carries - 12 yards; 4 rec - 25yds; 50% chance of a TD
Graham - 8-12 carries - 40 yards
Kenny Watson (CIN) - I'm guessing the Bengals will be playing from behind most of the game with or without Rudi J, and Watson seems to fit that style a little better than Rudi, add to that that Rudi is hurting and I could see Watson getting the bulk of the PT. Whether he has success or not - who knows but I have to think he gets some dumpoffs late that he can turn into some decent yards.
4-6 carries - 20 yards; 5 rec - 40 yds; 10% chance of a TD
update - it looks like Rudi is out so Watson becomes a no-brainer.
Leon Washington (NYJ) - The Bills are dead last in yards allowed on the ground at 170+. This has the potential to be one of those games that Washington busts a long one.
2-3 carries - 10 yards; 3 rec - 50+ yards; 60% chance of a TD
Buckhalter(PHI) - another good matchup as the Eagles go against the pedestrian Giants rush defense. If Westbrook is really hurting he will at least get some extra rest in this game and Buckhalter (and Hunt to a lesser extent) will take up the slack.
8-10 carries - 50 yards; 2 rec - 20 yards; 50% chance of a TD
Sleeper
Jesse Chatman (MIA) - I know this does not make sense but something tells me that "Cam squared" just has to tweak something that just worked too well last week - All Ronnie, all the time. This is a good matchup for the 'fins and I just expect to see more of Chatman this week.
3-5 carries - 25 yards; 4 rec - 40yds; 10% chance of a TD
